Summer Komikon 2014: 'Kampilan' Animation Teased!

04.13.2014 – Arnold Arre was at Summer Komikon yesterday for the official launch and his return to drawing comic books in collaboration with Gerry Alanguilan. He was also there to show his latest masterpiece in animation form known as Milky Boy.

The screening of Milky Boy at Summer Komikon was the first being shown intervals to those who signed up to see it for free in one of the conference rooms.

At the same time Arnold revealed his next project that’s deficiently improved to make great animation.

It has been years since Arnold Arre have worked on a graphic novel. His last one was for the ‘Martial Law Babies’ hot off the success of ‘Andong Agimat’ a few years ago. Arnold is also one of the major guest artists for Summer Komikon along with Leinil Yu and Macoy Tan the creator of ‘Ang Maskot’ that was made into a live action short film.

This time around Arnold is sharing his upcoming project in ‘Kampilan’ though not an official title it appears to be light years away from his first animated shorts. This one is a full length animation with collaboration this time with Professor Emil Flores.

There Arnold and Cynthia Arre was at the table, where a long line of fans are having their copies of Rodski Patotski was being signed by him. There he spoke to those they knew for a long time and shared this interesting teaser clip about a period piece throwback when freedom fighters where fighting for the Philippines’ independence.

The concepts of seeing them do kick ass fight scenes seems nothing like how Andong Agimat would do. But with continues improvement on how Arnold Arre does animation is something Pixar would take a look at it.

‘Kampilan’ certainly is an interesting animation project and there’s not much detail about what it is exactly but this teaser would definitely give you something to be excited:

From Arnold Arre and Emil Flores ‘Kampilan’ currently a working title and more details will be revealed soon. For more animated works from Arnold Arre subscribe to his YouTube channel!
