Filbar’s is the pioneer comic shop in the Philippines founded since 1979 and this is not the first time they have participated FCBD. Even before new management took over the company they have been part of the event, but during those years the comics are not free and there’s always a catch.
Though those years have been long forgotten the new management changed the way old and new people see Filbar’s in the new life since is rebirth back in 2012. The changes did not only apply to its appearance, but also how they managed and regain back some of their former customers and new faces who are into comic books.
If last year has taught Filbar’s about how wild and hectic in organizing Free Comic Book Day expect this year to be bigger and a little bit stress free.
Here are FOUR things Filbar’s will be doing in this year’s FREE Comic Book Day!
TWO COMICS IN TWO BRANCHES
To celebrate FCBD Filbar’s will be hosting the event in their two branches simultaneously. They will held the event at their old SM Megamall branch located at the basement level of Mega A near the Food Court, while the second one will be at the Ayala Fairview Terraces their biggest branch.
They will be giving away TWO FCBD titles per customer out of the fifty books to choose from and you’re not going to be in the Mirror Universe to have the same problems as lining up this year.

FLASH PASS CONVINIENCE
There’s a better way to pick up your FCBD without the stress of waiting for the long lines until your turn. Filbar’s is introducing the convenient way to enjoy your FCBD weekend and all you need is the Flash Pass.
It’s a system where customers can reserve a 10-minute time window to pick up two FCBD comics within the day, freeing them to enjoy other things while they wait to get served with free comics.
The Flash Pass also comes with a raffle stub that gives customers the chance to take home a whole set of at least 50 FCBD comics. Door buster offers and giveaways also await early birds.

MARVELOUS COMIC BOOK BOXES
Filbar’s has been known to sell comic book boxes. In the past they even have those filing-type boxes more studier than the conventional brown or white comic book boxes. Recently they have been teasing these new MARVEL-style comic book boxes that feature four new designs.
They are officially licensed Marvel Comics Boxes (PhP 599.00 pesos) that feature wraparound artwork of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko’s iconic comics, blown up to look like pop art.
“Though the artwork is a classic layout but fresh to the eye, giving classic covers and pages the chance to explode with color and newfound detail. The hard boxes, which can hold between 200-250 comics, feature pages from Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America, with more designs arriving later in the year,” said Ivan Guerrero, Filbar’s Creative Director.
