Sights & Highlights: Filbar's Convergence Event!

04.19.2015 – The Convergence signing events featuring Carlo Pagulayan and Michael Jason Paz doesn’t end at Filbar’s but it enough support and awareness that the Philippines have the most talented artists and creators working for DC Comics.

This event is not only about promoting the release of Convergence, DC Comics mega-event but also some interesting things to come from the comic shop that has been around in the country since its found in 1979 and you’ll be surprise to know more…


Filbar’s continues to grow under the new management since 2013 and has already expanded not only solely focused in the comic books and graphic novels. But also have wide variety of collectible items based from comic books, movies and television as well as license products not available on retail that includes exclusive items that can only be found in this store.









The Convergence Tour

Carlo Pagulayan and Michael Jason Paz wraps up the Covergence Philippine tour in promoting the first issue at Filbar’s. They have signed copies for the local comic book readers who have been waiting for them for almost an hour.

It’s fascinating to see Filipino artist being tapped by DC Comics to do their projects and it has been the case ever since. Carlo Pagulayan well known for his works with Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk teams up with Michael Jason Paz to bring the first issue of the mega-event that would change DC Comics after New 52.

One-Day Exclusive

Besides the comic book signing event that feature two prominent artists Filbar’s also have three local artists where you can request for commission sketches. But aside from all comics related coverage they also launched a one-day exclusive only product from Beast Kingdom to promote the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron film.

They released limited edition chrome edition of the floating Iron Man figurine exclusively released for one-day, which is also numbered and in VERY LIMTIED quantities. The first fifteen customers who acquires this exclusive Iron Man figure gets PhP 1,000.00 pesos off as this is worth PhP 8,500.00 pesos.

This Iron Man Chrome Edition is not available anywhere or would be sold after this event. Besides its ‘floating’ gimmick this Stark Technology is something of a must-have for Iron Man fans everywhere.



Exclusive Iron Man Hulkbuster VS Hulk Posters

In the Philippines the Avengers Age of Ultron is set to be shown on April 22nd and if you’ve been a fan of Iron Man and The Hulk then this must be something worthy to have framed and hanged on your wall.

Filbar’s is selling the exclusive posters for only PhP 299.00 pesos each, but the best one is the image of two Avengers beating up one another, while the other poster is the image of the Iron Man Hulkbuster armour that fans are looking forward to see in live action form and finally Marvel brought Tony Stark’s biggest gear in cinema.







Free Comic Book Day Preview

Rounding up the event is what to expect in the upcoming Free Comic Book Day. Filbar’s has been gracious enough to reveal that they are participating this year their second time to be part of this annual event.

They revealed that they will organize TWO FCBD event in their SM Megamll branch and their biggest store at Fairview Terraces. Not only that they also showed some graphic novels and book compilations that they will be slashing at 40% off their racks on Free Comic Book Day.

This is just but a preview of things to come and Filbar’s is covering all the bases in the Mandaluyong and Quezon City areas to hold their FCBD event for those hoping to participate that doesn’t need to travel all the way to Makati city just to line up. They will also have comic book artists in their event but they haven’t confirmed who.
