Sights & Highlights: 'POP Art' in the Park!

04.04.2016 – “Art in the Park” is an annual event that features local art galleries in the Philippines. The event offer visitors a range of paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, and new media at prices below the price range sold in art galleries.

Popular Culture has influenced the art scene and with that there where a lot of that to go around being sighted from Astroboy, Batman, Gundam, Iron Man and even Fight Club to name a few. It was an art filled ‘POP Art in the Park!’


This year’s “Art in the Park” is not as crowded or as cloudy that rained down in 2015. Its an art event that defined summer in the Philippines, and everyone came not only to buy art but soak up the clear sky and appreciate the works of the talents who where there to sell their wares.

Literally the end of the weekend highlight was all about appreciating the arts from paintings to sculptures that was inspired by the popular culture one way or another. Most of them are from the comicbooks and it was a great Sunday for the art.

The one-day event held from 10 AM to 10 PM put the capacity of Jaime C Velasquez Park to its limits where art, food and wine collide, but for those into popular culture this was the definition of the event as seen through these images…
