It was a fine Tuesday afternoon as media guests and friends start arriving filling up the lounge area of Conrad Hotels, which is just at the backyard of SMX Convention Centre. This is starting to be a routine for Asia Pop Comicon to held a press conference to give you an idea what to expect for this year.
Before introducing the guests Justin talked about how last year was a success and played a montage of videos that highlight the guests, CAGE cosplay, and so much more that was unforgettable about the very first APCC Manila
Guest Introductions
The invited guests and media where anxious who will be introduced for the Media Day. The line-up introduced comicbook artists Ken Lashley, Mike Zeck, and Whilce Portacio with Alodia Gosienfiao who will be one of the judges for this year’s CAGE. Jason Palmer and Shinichiro Katai aka Devil Robots was also introduced.
There are no merchandise displays as previewed from last year, where you get to see some of the convention exclusives. It’s a straight press conference mostly highlighting the guests on Media as well as the Hollywood stars gracing the convention which features Nicholas Hoult (Best, X-Men Apocalypse), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven, Stranger Things), Joe Dempsie (Gendry, Games of Thrones), and Claire Holt (Vampire Diaries).
The highlights of the Media Day after the panel interview was followed by each individual round with various media from print and online, which also announced that the schedule for the next three days has already been released.
Mike Zeck Has Been Around
An exclusive interview with Mike Zeck through Red Dot Diva will be available. Zeck known for his work in Amazing Spider-Man: Kraven, The Last Hunt, Captain America Annual #8 and various covers for G.I. Joe published then by Marvel has been travelling to the Philippines since 1991.
He spoke about his travels to the country and has been seen with one of the local artists a few days before. It’s his first time at Asia Pop Comicon Manila as one of the featured guests for this year and he can’t wait to come back, but right now he’s excited to meet everyone this weekend.
Bigger Than Ever Before
Asia Pop Comicon Manila is all things you expect in the biggest convention in the Philippines. There’s so much to see this weekend and expect some surprises. The best is yet to be revealed and this is Media Day was just a warm-up.
