Lethal Weapon | 4 Reasons To See the TV Series

09.21.2016 – There have been remakes or reboots of well known action films into television series most of them failed. It’s either the actors or the narrative doesn’t make the adaptation worth watching, but “Lethal Weapon” is changing all that.

The trailer for the television series released several months back was on its early stages not the one you’ve probably have seen on Warner TV, which has something new about a franchise that has not bee around since its last film for the last sixteen years. If you’ve been curious here’s something you should know about the show…

The new “Lethal Weapon” is a modern representation of the classic cop-duo Riggs and Murtaugh, of the buddy cop action franchise of the same name fame based from the films.

Though there will be sceptics trying to compare the TV series from the original film series there’s something different and refreshing what to expect when it will be on the small screen every week as Warner TV starting September 22 at 8:10pm, which is also aired same day in the US.

Here are some of those things you should know about the ‘new’ “Lethal Weapon” series set to premier on Warner TV Asia.

Same Concept with a Modern Twist

The original “Lethal Weapon” from 1987 would still hold through to its classic roots, but the new series takes the concept and re-introduce the characters in the 21st century updating them with a new look, but still the same buddy cop that everyone have seen.

Clayne Crawford as Martin Riggs

Though he’s not known for his previous roles, Clayne Crawford is something to look forward to in the new series as Martin Riggs. His take on Riggs as a former Navy SEAL compared to the original as a former US Army Special Forces from the Narcotics Division will give you a different look on the character. To add that new vibe to Riggs now a former Navy SEAL with personal issues that have a knack for adrenaline rush is something Murtaugh can possibly handle.

Damon Wayans Sr. as Roger Murtaugh

Damon Wayans Sr. has been seen in action films his first was actually ‘The Last Boy Scout’ opposite Bruce Willis. Now portraying Murtaugh fits like a Danny Glover, but adds his own personality to the classic character. Murtaugh is much younger but have too many things in his plate including his family. But you certainly would definitely enjoy Wayans take on this character opposite Crawford’s Riggs, which you’ll probably forget that it was originally portrayed by Glover and Gibson.

Lethal Combination Ready for Action

There’s nothing like Martin Riggs and Roger Mutaugh, but they won’t be that lethal without the supporting cast which have Jordana Brewster, Keesha Sharp, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney, Johnathan Fernandez , and Kevin Rahm as Captain Brooks Avery to complete the team that you’ll see every Thursday nights.

Catch the premiere episode of Lethal Weapon, same day as the US, on September 22 at 8:10pm. And before the series premiere, you can relive the adventures of Riggs and Murtaugh in the 1987 original Lethal Weapon movie at 6:16pm, also on Warner TV.
