Playmobil Series 14 | Queen Bee & SWAT Police

05.24.2019 – Playmobil has a come a long way from mistaken for another construction toy brand and being a knock off.

There have been changes made to make the brand relevant again which makes it more interesting for some to start collecting the sets.

But what makes it interest are the happy-faced Playmobil Figures.

The fourteenth iteration of the blind pack series produces some improved versions of the previous thematic characters in the set. Though some have been reused with an improved version of a robot or a fireman it is safe to say Playmobil has found its niche in the collectible market and here are some of those interesting characters.

Unlike the other blind pack series Playmobil separates the boys set from the girls giving them the chance to incorporate new characters or themes to the ever growing product series. Comparing it to another popular brand that have the same blind pack concept won’t give you a proper perspective about its own identity.

But to give its own credence the blind pack series is not what most would expect. For those who come to appreciate the Playmobil brand would know which one they’ll certainly gravitates their interest when it comes to collecting Playmo Figures. Most collectors who do follow a specific theme are into the army building. The usual themes that are a favourite in the Philippines are the Knights with their castles and that armored soldiers and the Pirates theme follows suit.

There are a few into science fiction and the City Series themes. It is quite an expanded brand now that Playmobil had acquired licencing rights to produce their version of the Ghostbusters and How to Train Your Dragon based on their respective franchises.

And then there’s the casual collector who just pick the ones that they find interesting without the need to put a face or licenced brand in them. That is where the series 14 blind packs give some option to those who don’t complete a set, but appreciate the ones that catches their attention and that brings to the spotlight on this two figures…

Playmo Figures 14 for Girls | Queen Bee

Majority of the Playmobil theme has put fantasy as an interesting concept that there have been a lot of Playmo Figures produced previously available in the blind pack theme for girls and also for the boys. But the fairies, queens, and other things relate to this are the most girls would collect.

The Queen Bee is one of those interesting Playmo Figures to come out from series 14 and all you need is an army of Bee Men to accompany here if you’re into army building. But if you’re just collecting what stands out this is an interesting figure that comes with a bouquet of flowers.

This new figure also comes with her signature crown and a set of wings. She wears a short skirt and this is an alternative Playmo Figure female body similar to the Rockstar from Series 8. There is other female body version in Playmobil this was one of those figure types that works with the theme and to see this template to reuse into a Queen Bee was no surprise that catches quite an attention too.

Playmo Figures 14 for Boys | SWAT Police

This figure is a SWAT Police in some markets it is known as a Special Agent. But notable gear he wears is a standard SWAT Police with the armor, rifle, helmet, and the ropes do not make it a Special Agent.

Probably, in certain markets translation does not give them an idea that it is a SWAT Police or that there’s a different term in some countries that end up calling it a Special Agent. But at the end of the day it is considered a high ranking Special Police Unit that uses a different weapon and heavily armored.

What makes this figure standout is the stings and suction cup that comes with this one as an accessory. Every kid gravitates to figures with a string as a rope and that’s makes them cool to scale down walls or mountains. This is one of those sought after figures from the boys section of the series 14 that get sold out immediately due to the abundance of accessories aside from the strings that came with it.

Overall these two figures in their individual sets stand out for its unique appearance and accessories as you don’t see it in other figures. It depends also in the collector’s preference and interest as some concentrate to collect a single theme some are into the ones that they find interesting. It is a diverse hobby but what make it interesting is the characters that made each blind bag series a favourite.

Playmobil Series 14 is retailed at ₱ 199.75 Pesos [** $ 5.32 AUD | $ 4.12 USD ] available in local retail stores nationwide distributed by Ban Kee Toys. This was acquired at Rustan’s Makati during the in-store activity to promote the brand. For more about Playmobil Community in the Philippines LIKE Pinoymobil on Facebook!
