Movie Review | Lupin III: The First

02.03.2020 – If you haven’t heard of Lupin the Third chances are you haven’t watched the full spectrum of iconic Japanese anime series. But if you just want to see a modern take of a cult classic character this latest iteration of Lupin might be in your wheelhouse for those looking for a different take of the beloved franchise.

Lupin III: The First is the latest instalment in the film franchise, which is actually a standalone adventure of Lupin and his friends including Detective Zenegata. Back in the early 2000s old episodes of Lupin the Third anime series were syndicated in the Philippines, which were dubbed in Filipino (Tagalog) and became a huge hit. Though the series is no longer being broadcast the character and its series has been popular.

With the latest film it takes all the classic elements of what the franchise is all about and reintroduced in this generation with a CG animated feature film, that redefines the character and giving you a fresh look on his next adventure that also ties up to his grandfather Arsène Lupin.

Valérian | Cara Delivingne is Laureline

07.20.2017 – You might have seen her as Margo Roth Spiegelman in the 2015 mystery-drama film Paper Towns and last year’s Suicide Squad as the villainous or if you’re into fashion probably you’ve heard of her name in the industry. But in the upcoming sci-fi adventure, she portrays Laureline in Luc Besson's “Valérian.”

Model turned actress Cara Delevingne stars in the latest action adventure movie “Valerian”, a spectacular visual and epic event set in a universe beyond imagination, the main events of the movie begin in the year 2740.

10.01.2016 – “Max Steel” is a classic toy line that was manufactured by Mattel, the same toy makers of Barbie and Hot Wheels. Similar to the 12 inch G.I. Joe figures, but less of being related to military more of a science fiction adventure genre.

Max McGrath is a teenager with special abilities that was first introduced in 2000 and then rebooted his origins with a new series now being adapted for live action film of the same name. “Max Steel” is reborn and this time to the big screen...

Godzilla Resurgence in PH Cinemas!

08.07.2016 – “Godzilla Resurgence” (Shin Godzilla in Japan) produced by Toho Ltd is the first produced film since Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). The 29th in the franchise a reboot since the American production.

This is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan: End of the World). Japan’s Toho Ltd take their original creation from 1954 this year that has been highly anticipated.

Gerald Butler Leads in Gods of Egypt!

01.23.2016 – Gods of Egypt is another fantasy film featuring ancient Egyptian deities and it features an ensemble produced by Summit Entertainment. The film stars Gerald Butlet, Chadwick Boseman, Geoffrey Rush, and Elodie Yung to name some of the lead actors for this film.

Alex Proyas, the director cited the following films as influences on Gods of Egypt: The Guns of Navarone (1961), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), and Sergio Leone's Western films.
