As part of their "Mark of the Spider-Man" viral marketing campaign to promote their upcoming summer superhero flick, Marvel and Sony Pictures have released the very first official clip to Marc Webb's Spider-Man movie reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man", featuring the main star himself Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, in a scene where he meets his biggest challenge yet. SPOILERS abound of course, so watch the clip after the jump if you're among the curious!

Movie Review: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

The year of the superhero movies is upon us once more, and there's quite a mouthful of exciting titles to look forward to as 2012 rolls forward. With momentum building up to Josh Whedon's The Avengers, Marc Webb's new take on Spider-Man, and the conclusion to Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight saga, comic book fans certainly have a lot on their plate that will keep them satisfied and talking in the months to come. However, the comic book movie craze will officially begin this month, as Marvel releases their first salvo of heroism in the form of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Once again starring Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze/ Ghost Rider, the film is not exactly a direct sequel, and instead picks and retools elements from the first movie to generate a new adventure that is supposedly much darker and grittier than its predecessor. Before trailing off to the review, I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks to Warner Bros. Philippines for inviting me to the special screening of this film. Now that its riding in theaters, find out just how much hellfire and brimstone this film has.

Sweetheart Spud, The Love Bug This Valentines Day!

02.14.2012 – Giving the very best for Valentine’s Day why not make someone laugh for once even for those single individuals taking their rant on Facebook and Twitter. This might not come unique to anyone outside the Philippine but for those who just want to have a good humor why not share them with a little of fun with the Sweetheart Spud!

Yes! This special occasion you’ve got to give love for those who needs one. In fact This Potato Head is ready to shoot some arrows to cheer someone up. There’s no better medicine for the gloomy soul to have some good hearty laugh especially the single ones right now.

Five Things About Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance!

02.14.2012 – Ghost Rider: The Spirit of Vengeance will be coming out in cinemas in a few days. For the comic book junkie anyone knows the flaming skull in a bike. The first film in 2007 had mixed reviews and not as what we expected.

Surprisingly there’s a sequel taking the “Spirits of Vengeance” title from the original comic book from the mid-1990s. The upcoming flick possibly is a semi-reboot and it still stars Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze cursed to become Ghost Rider. Under the Marvel Knights production which is being distributed by Warner Bros. the mother studio and owner of DC Comics.

NY Toy Fair 2012: The Bat Revealed from Dark Knight Rises!

02.13.2012 – The New York Toy Fair 2012 has been giving us enough updates and we bring you the one possible that might be seen in Philippine shores. The Dark Knight Rises has revealed the name of Batman’s latest vehicle a few weeks and Mattel is pushing the promotion of its merchandise.

Evidently a truck driving by in the streets of New York pretty much sums up what to expect in the upcoming Batman film. There are mixed receptions about some of them being displayed in the convention floor but one thing for sure there’s The Bat we want to see here…

PRESS RELEASE: Tom Hardy says "This Means War!"

02.13.2012 – Chris Pine and Tom Hardy portray the world’s deadliest CIA operatives who are also inseparable partners and best friends… until they fall for the same woman (Reese Witherspoon) in “This Means War.” Having once helped bring down entire enemy nations, they are now employing their incomparable skills and an endless array of high-tech gadgetry against their greatest nemesis ever – each other.

James, better known as Tuck (Hardy), is ruggedly good-looking and dangerous, but not nearly as skilled at romantic matters compared to his best friend and partner Franklin Delano Roosevelt Foster, better known as FDR (Pine). Together, their unrivaled flair, formidable covert abilities, and good looks, make them the best of the best among CIA agents. But FDR and Tuck’s longstanding personal and professional bond is put to the test when they unwittingly begin dating the same woman.

Star Trek building sets coming in 2013 from Kre-O by Hasbro!

02.12.2012 – A few days ago we found about the upcoming Kre-O construction toys for Hasbro secured the rights to produce Star Trek play sets based from the movie that JJ Abrams had directed in 2009. What confused us in this news is that Hasbro mentioned in the press release that they had the rights to produce not only KREON sets but we might also see a full line of action figures.

There were no contradictory notes about it but wait and see as this new develops. This would be big for Hasbro with toylines that carry 1:18 scale or 3.75 inch action figures from G.I. Joe, Marvel and Star Wars.

Imagine how would this turn out if they did release Star Trek figures side by side with George Lucas’ science fiction adventure in Star Wars.

The first issue has been out since last month from under our noses we missed getting a hold of the copy but surely there’s another way through our local retail shop to get us an issue to catch up as issue #2 is about to be released very soon.

The Bourne Legacy Poster and Trailer debut online!

Currently filming and prepping up for release this August, Universal Pictures has released a new poster and the very first trailer to their upcoming spin-off flick based on Robert Ludlum's Bourne series - "The Bourne Legacy"! Starring Jeremy Renner (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, The Avengers) as Aaron Cross, the movie will center around events that transpire as a consequence of the actions of Jason Bourne in the past Bourne films. Filming was also done in this blogger's home country of The Philippines (with film locations taking place in spots like Manila and Makati), so it will be interesting to see how this fares in theaters this August, and it also stars Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton to boot! It Only Hurts When RJ Ledesma Pee.

02.06.2012 – It Only Hurts When I Pee is RJ Ledesma’s "Imaginary Guide to Bodily Gases, Hair Loss and Pink Parts” by Anvil Publishing has been out since December 2011. This is his fourth book to date after "Is it hot in here or is it me?" and for those who’s looking for true blue Filipino some good laughs.

We can agree on some things but with RJ at the helm we highly suggest you read the book yourself. The last time we had read his book was back in 2009’s “I Do or I Die” his imaginary Guide to Getting Married was thought provokingly interesting.

The Viewer from Chronicle's Revelation!

02.05.2012 – Chronicle is currently playing in local cinemas right now in the Philippines. Somewhere in San Diego California our resident video blogger Mach Diesel or SMU Toys just recently watched this film. He’ll take you to his adventure when he watched this would-be sleeper hit movie.

The movie Chronicle we previously reviewed last week was something unexpected and the Philippine press media screening was held last February 1, 2012. We never expected to be one of those good films unnoticed by the movie going public.

02.04.2012 – The World Wrestling Fan Xperience has arrived in Manila! The press conference was already a sneak peek for things to come on Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The conference was a closed door event that introduced almost all the athletes with the exception of Carlitos and Jillian who were promoting at Eat Bulaga, a noon time show in the Philippines.

The afternoon was bursting with entertainment for those wrestling fans the term “ad promo” was already happening in the front of the media.

Beginning with March's Amazing Spider-Man #682 (written by Dan Slott and which also commemorates Spidey's 50th Anniversary), the six issue event focuses on Spidey dealing with a new incarnation of the Sinister Six, with Doctor Octopus leading the pack and setting his sights on global domination. Be The Witness To The Chronicle!

02.01.2012 – They say power corrupts and that’s basically how it played out throughout the screening of Chronicle. The film is a virtual unknown until you’ll see for yourself. It has some highs and definitely less of the lows. The marketing of this film would be considered below the radar for the general viewing public just like its press media screening which was held today.

There are comparisons for this film but I’d rather call it an inspiration to get a better picture. The story of three boys stumbled upon a mysterious place that would change their life told in the perspective of 1999’s The Blair Witch Project. But there’s certainly something good about this film for anyone who would like to see something fresh all over again.

The Avengers 17-Second Teaser Preview at Super Bowl XLVI!

02.01.2012 – It’s hot off the press and pretty sure everyone is mad scrambling to find out what’s the buzz about a 17-second teaser on the Avengers for the Super Bowl XLVI commercial. The most ambitious event of the year won’t be out until April 2012.

I’m sure you’re itching to buy every action figure that’s been also making a trending and right now anticipation is building up. All we can say is that this commercial is way short compared to the previous years a teaser trailer comes along.
