Ghost Rider in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

07.23.2016 – Ghost Rider has several iterations since being introduced in 1973 with Johhny Blaze as the host for the demon called Zarathos. In the 1990s it got a revival with a new demon being called ‘The Spirit of Vengeance’ that features Danny Ketch.

By the mid-2000s New Line Cinema would acquire the rights to produce two films starring Nicolas Cage. The rights revert back to Marvel and now reveals his next appearance is on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fourth season!

The lone TV series for ABC after Agent Carter’s end still continue to be Marvel’s flagship in the small screen. To give more credence to its fourth season they started teasing trolleys in San Diego decked in a flaming ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D’ look that a lot of fans speculated another flame wielding character would appear in the series.

It turns out the revelation of the Ghost Rider appearing in the fourth season has been confirmed with this teaser below:

But the question remained was which Ghost Rider? There have been four of them that include Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. The speculation was it either Alejandra, a female character who temporarily became its most recent host aside from Johnny Blaze. The other is a new Ghost Rider, which not only is a new demon to possess a young Robbie Reyes it’s the first time that this one drives a muscle car.

If you haven’t read the comicbooks here’s a breakdown on who is Robbie Reyes and why this Ghost Rider is the coolest them all and what to expect in the new season for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!

Ghost Rider Driving a Muscle Car

Introduced in 2013 as the ‘All-New Ghost Rider’, Roberto ‘Robbie’ Reyes a Mexican-American became the new host and fourth character to become its newest ‘Spirit of Vengeance’ instead of driving a motorcycle or riding a horse drives haunted Dodge Charger which believes to be his estranged uncle named Eli Morrow.

Eli Morrow, the Demon Within

Robbie Reyes doesn’t have any idea when he ended up using a mysterious black Dodge Charger that would be revealed to be the spirit of Eli Morrow. At first Eli claims he was gun down by former gang members and wanted revenge. But it turns out he’s related to Robbie as his estranged uncle whose spirit is bonded to the car.

Hellfire Powered Hero

Originally possessed Satanic serial killer it doesn’t say if the producers of Agents of SHIELD would adapt that part of the character in the show, but Gabriel Luna as Robbie Reyes fits well and as the newest Ghost Rider would clearly associate with the younger fans season 4 gets aired this fall. But questions if this Ghost Rider to goes against Hellfire another character, that use the same hellfire powers remains in silence when press asked questions regarding this.

The Flaming Skull-Helmet is here

Its seems the teaser for Ghost Rider won’t fully adapt the ‘Helmet Skull’ that Robbie Reyes wears when he becomes the flame headed demon that Eli Morrow possess. But expect a mix of both old and new look for this one as it separates itself from the previous Ghost Rider that Nicolas Cage has portrayed. It would be great if they did bring Cage as Johnny Blaze, but this is too early to have pipe dreams.

For now the anticipation of Robbie Reyes as Ghost Rider is headed to the fourth season Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he certainly have a bone to pick on the baddies as well as how he’ll interact with the regular characters this fall.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, September 20, 2016 on ABC. This will be aired on Fox in selected parts of Asia and in the Philippines.
