Movie Review | Spider-Man: Far From Home

07.03.2019 – With Great Power Must Have Great Responsibility. Everyone knows that was caption in the comicbook and uttered by Uncle Ben in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t need an adult to tell Peter Parker that entire he must find out from himself through trials and errors of his ways.

The film that will close out Phase Three of the MCU films as its sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming was a revelation to Peter Parker’s growth what it takes to be a superhero and there was been a wealth of visual perspective in this film that makes it more cheerful; than the last film that precedes it.

Definitely, the fun factor was dialed up that it was more focus now on the world of Peter Parker as the hero moving forward.

Like any Marvel Studios produced films it takes an identity of its own that the cast of characters are headed to a ‘Summer Vacation’ and in relative fashion still carries the vibe from Homecoming that it still the elements of a fresh adventure of the students that have Ned, MJ, and Peter with the rest of their class that was a whole lot of fun!

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! If you haven’t seen Spider-Man: Far from Home you know the drill, but then again you’ll just ignore it anyway so carry on…

For anyone who have seen Avengers: Endgame this becomes the film that follows it and there are tons of reference from previous film namely the tributes that were given to the Avengers that includes Iron Man (Tony Stark), Captain America (Steve Rogers), and Black Widow (Natasha Romanov) after the opening montage.

The pacing certainly fast from the students talking about what happened from post-decimation or what they call it “Blip” the next few scenes they were already on the flight to Europe like Peter being left in questions when Happy Hogan and Aunt May started flirting backstage when he presents them the donation from Stark Industries.

Stellar chemistry from the cast namely Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck/Mysterio how these two characters relate to each other and how the revelation that the later was something more than from another Earth. What makes it impressive is how all things are connected from the previous films namely the characters connected to Mysterio.

Visual abilities of Mysterio controlling drones was something not done by one man by a team of former Stark Industry employees that were from the past MCU films. It was action packed and every scene was quick with the right balance of character development that is simply what made Marvel Studios keep making great movies.

Overall it was fast and quite a ride that amount of build-up as well as the plot was an interesting twist up to the post-credit scenes. Although it was quite a shocker with that cameo and revelation in the mid-credit scene it was simply the sign of times regarding where Marvel is taking Spider-Man and the next phase of the franchise.

The next few months will be exciting for long-time fans and those who watch these Marvel Studios produced films. There’s more where that came from once everything is set for Phase Four but for now, don’t miss the Mid-Credit and Post Credit Scene it is certainly going to be bigger than the last phase!
