| 09.20.2019 – The weekend is almost here and it is another packed events happening all over the city. In case you have no plans to go anywhere for anyone into comics, cosplay, and anything that’s pop culture there is League Con that is now happening at the SM Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall.
The weekend event will definitely be packed with activities from workshops, meet and greet, and, everything that this event has to offer. This also celebrates this Saturday’s Batman Day and tie-up with TDKPH for their Batcon event happening next month and there’s more to see on the first day here! |
League Con is a pop culture event happening from 20-22 September 2019 and the day one happens now (Friday). But of course there are so many things to see in this event if you’re into comicbooks or graphic novel. Besides all the early promotions for this event it is mo0re focused on promoting the Filipino talents based in the country who have made big in the international scene.
There are also special guests like Billy Tan from Malaysia who worked for Marvel titles like X-Men and DC Comics’ Green Lantern. The artist will be present all-weekend as one of the artist at the panel and also for a scheduled workshop. There will be cosplay too and they will also have a special workshop with Jay Tablante.
The first day has some interesting vendors that featured local komiks artists and creators from the community with Lyndon Gregorio (Beerkada) and Freely Abrigo (Kulas) to name a few currently having a table there. The event won’t be without League Con partners with Bigboy Toy Store and Kotobukiya, which have their separate booths with displays of collectibles.
This event is organized by DC Comics Café and you’ll find that most of the comicbooks at Comic Odyssey features DC Comics titles prominently. But also there are some titles that are for children in case you bring your kids and introduce them to the world of comicbooks.
First day event doesn’t much have schedule of activities, but in case you haven’t stopped by today (Friday) see some interesting images from the main venue. This is an open event that means FREE ENTRY for everyone to be part of this experience.
Immerse yourself to the world of comicbooks and meet the artist behind some of DC Comics popular series. Don’t forget there are also cosplayers around as well as the cosplay contest for those who are interested. It is certainly going to be a busy weekend and in case you want to try some interesting dishes from DC Comic Café they have a booth at the entrance and check out their menu!
