Super Manila | An Epic ComicBook Event

09.22.2019 – There is something good about being a comicbook fan and there’s something great about being part of the community that invites common interest and at the same time build relationships not only with fellow readers. But also the local comic shops that bring these exciting titles to their shelves. And then there’s SuperManila that is something shaping up to be the next best thing to promote not only the writers and artists that are based in the Philippines representing the international scene.

But also goes back and pay tribute to the Filipino comicbook roots that have become part of the comicbook DNA of today.

SuperManila is presented by the two well-known Comic Shops in the Manila, namely Comic Odyssey and Filbar’s. These two shops has a long history why comicbooks are still relevant to the country even though other forms of media like record stores or music sections inside a department store that sells music and movies have slowly faded away in the local scene.



The event is not just about the comic shops, but bringing in major guests like US-based Filipino artist WHILCE PORTACIO (Wetworks, Stone, X-Men, and Co-Created X-men’s Bishop) making a visit back to the country, and alongside him is LEINIL YU (Captain America, Indestructible Hulk, and Co-Creator of Wave).

Beside the announcement of Whilce Portacio making the visit this will also be the reunion of his fellow artists from the Balete Drive Studios.

There will be other renowned artists making the list and this event will something really “Home Grown” to be the next Comics-related Event that really put the definition about Comicbooks as the major gathering for fans and inviting those curious about reading them as the list of other artist is read below:

So far there’s not much information aside from the date and venue is all set from 18-20 October 2019 at The Podium Hall in Mandaluyong City. There will be Entrance Fee, which will be announced soon.
