Secret Fresh + Keb Cerda | Dahlia & the Lost Lamb

11.18.2019 –There are deep narratives that define a contemporary art nowadays with inspiration taken from popular culture namely in science fiction, videogames, and even in comicbooks. There’s a rich world out there that aspire to take up a pen and write it or even illustrate them in your own perspective.

This is the case with Keb Cerda who recently had an opening night for his solo art exhibition at Secret Fresh. Most of the artists featured usually have their own vision and story to tell, but Cerda defines his work through this elaborate world filled with ideas that was inspired from the genres mention and it had a lot of visceral imagery.

Inside one of the galleries at Secret Fresh there was this area that rarely people go through or hang out. You won’t get lost in it but it gives you time to appreciate the artworks without the open crowd experience the main gallery has.

The lighting is not that dark but just right for you immerse yourself on the set up and for Keb Cerda the world of “Dahlia and the Lost Lamb” is a realm on its own. You go to the gallery and you get the each canvas a part of the main narrative at the same time you get immersed into the adventure of the character he has created.

Of course with every painting there’s an art toy that is encased in acrylic revealing each of the character’s emotional journey. It is an exhibition that takes you inside a graphic novel that is quite intense at the same time visually inviting.

The images below will give you an idea in case you missed the show and for the reason Keb Cerda should make an actual graphic novel out of this…

“Dahlia and The Lost Lamb” the Solo Art Show featuring Keb Cerda is now on exhibit from 17-29 November 2019 at the Secret Fresh gallery. For more about the next art shows follow Secret Fresh on social media via Facebook and Instagram!
