Obi-Wan & Anakin #2: Unfamiliar World!

02.04.2016 – The dynamic between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker hasn’t been explored in comicbooks before. It was with Quigon Jinn that was featured during the younger days of Obi-Wan as the Padawan himself. But this happened before the Expanded Universe was canon that became “Star Wars Legends.”

The premise for this mini-series didn’t give anymore details as to who called upon Obi-Wan and Anakin to make the travel to Carnelion IV a planet full of mystery and dangerous natives hardly known in this part of the sector. The first issue showed that they are marooned in this planet that has warring factions of natives trying to kill each other due to their mysterious beliefs.

While the mission is to find out who sent the distress beacon for two Jedis sent to this planet this also explores the relationship between master and padawan in the days before the destruction of the Old Republic. The narrative written by Charles Soule with art provided by Marco Chechetto gives you a different look of the characters in their Manga-style artwork not too-cartoonish but definitely stands out.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan & Anakin #1!

01.07.2016 - For those who haven’t jump-in to the comic books surely you’ll get more detail stories than waiting for the next Saga Series to come like sometime in 2017. Star Wars comic books published by Marvel are canon to the movies, animated series (Rebels), and even includes the videogames which means just like the cinematic universe that ‘The House of Ideas’ has been making its all connected.

Since Disney acquiring LucasFilms in 2012 it was obvious that the publication of the comic books will likely move from Dark Horse to Marvel and with that the ‘Expanded Universe’ is no longer canon to the films. Its going to be streamlined and Disney made sure that everything comes together interconnected to each other.

It’s been almost two years since Marvel ushered in Star Wars taking place after “A New Hope” and before “Empire Strikes Back.” There is also mini-series featuring beloved characters from the Original Trilogy.

Now they are taking a closer look at a relationship between two of the characters from the Prequel Trilogy featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.

Nowhere To Hide... Afterlife with Archie!

12.07.2013 – Archie Comics has been around since 1939 featuring fictional teenagers Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle and Jughead Jones. Over the years it’s mostly focused on the love triangle between Archie, Betty & Veronica.

The concept of an American comic book themed slice of life was just constantly being updated for the modern times. But little known to casual readers that the latest Archie comic book won’t be the one you’ll expect to see featuring zombies…

Where Bold Stars Go To Die!

11.28.2013 – When you talk about “Where Bold Stars Go to Die” it sounded less of a porn related to title and more of a world that you want to know where they went. This was Gerry Alanguilan’s next independent comic book project after Elmer.

From talking chickens to bold stars and when you hear those words nudity comes to mind. Because back then old Filipino komiks have adult related titles, but this one is not cheap and definitely for adults only that address the subject matter seriously with respect.
