SDCC 2010: Get Ready For Cowboys & Aliens!

07.24.2010 - One of the most exciting highlights asides from the stabbing that occured at Hall H is the movie by John Johnfavreau.

It was one of the most anticipated panel discussions to happen since every epic announcements where made at this year's Comic-Con...

If you haven't heard about Cowboys & Aliens its based on the same title of the cross-genre 2006 graphic novel series created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.

Originally Robert Downey Jr. was initially in discussion to star as Jake Johnson, but due to busy schedules the role went to Daniel Craig subsequently. Jon Favreau has been tapped to direct the upcoming Dreamworks/Universal screen adaptation of the graphic novel. Olivia Wilde will play the role Ella, Sam Rockwell teaming up with Favreau after Iron Man 2. Adam Beach will play Nat Colorado. The script by was written Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Damon Lindelof. With Steven Spielberg together with Ron Howard, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Kurtzman, Orci, and Brian Gazer are producing the project for the July 29, 2011 release.

One of the most exciting thing happened at this panel was the introduction of the cast and the last one was for Harrison Ford in his handcuffs with two escorts. This was his first Comic-Con and the man who played memorable characters in Han Solo and Indiana Jones was given a standing ovation all six thousand people seated.

Definitely one of the movies to look forward to and as Jon Favreau mentioned in the panel is that they will be back for Comic-Con next year to promote the film. As they have only shot the film for the past four weeks and the video presented was not the final pre-production.

Expect one of the properties to watch out for the upcoming Comic-Con next year. As you all know this con never runs out of surprises its just makes you want to come back for more!
