05.31.2013 – Visprint and Komikon Inc. team up to bring you Mini-Komikon Night as presented The National Book Development Board which features the Philippine comic industry that has the creators of Trese, Filipino Heroes League, Kuting Magiting, Beerkada, West Side and many more as well as the publisher Black Ink.

The short but successful event featured talks by Budjette Tan how he developed the highly popular Trese comic book series with the upcoming sixth book this November. The event was visited my all walks of life who has appreciated the local komiks scene.

The event did not start until 3PM which is geared to the younger audience having Robert Magnuson selling his Kuting Magiting going in second print since it was sold out during Summer Komikon in April was deeply grateful for the support of the first book that it’s about to go on its third print.

Ariel Atienza and Lyndon Gregorio were doing some sketches that anyone can purchase. Rommel “Omeng” Estanislao creator of Bruho Barbero was peddling collectible creations aside from his comic books. There were also trinkets and collectibles sold at “Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan at Ink” table beside the free Nachos.

Jon Zamar (Code Name: Bathhala), JP Palabon (Puso Negro), and JM Valenzuela (Kanto Komiks) were also present taking photos and just enjoying the free nachos, ice cone, cotton candy and corn dog until supply lasted before the event closing. The afternoon was like a small fiesta with kids having fun watching the videos from the projector featuring some of the local comic books being sold by Visprint among others.

The one day event was greeted by parents and children making the most the last days of summer and the next Komikon won’t happen in August.
