Movie Review | Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Fallen Kingdom is the sixth instalment of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise. It’s being the second instalment following 2015’s Jurassic World. The reboot or re-telling following the Jurassic Park franchise gave a fresh look at the dinosaurs that introduced new characters. The sequel Fallen Kingdom follows up after what happened three years ago. The synopsis is that the volcano in Isla Nublar has become active and the dinosaurs rest upon the decisions to save them or not by the US government. This film expands now that everyone is aware of the cloned dinosaurs following the sort of successful opening of the theme park.
New Threats Same Bad Dino
Like all Jurassic films there’s always an immediate threat it’s either a human or a new dinosaur that has escaped. Sometimes both threats arise as teased by the trailers and other promotional releases. For the Jurassic World franchise most of the dinosaurs now are fictional and you can’t get enough of these creatures like the Indominous Rex from 5the previous film. For this one a new threat in the form of the Indoraptor was teased, but you can only imagine what type of concoction Doctor Wu has put into this new threat that Owen and the gang is going to face. But expect the new star in this franchise will be Blue from the previous film that has been the image of the film’s logo instead of the Tyrannosaurus Rex from the previous franchises.
Old and New Friendly Allies
The film won’t be without Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady, the Raptor Wrangler that raised Blue and the other now-deceased raptors. As expected Ian Malcolm from the previous franchise makes a cameo as you’ve seen in the trailers. There are new faces too that would be a collateral damage for the dinosaurs or for those who would survive the experience. The stakes have been higher now with the dinosaurs life hang in balance. The action takes you from the island of Isla Nublar to American cities. The threat is now close to home without the need to compare it to Lost World it’s far more complicated as you’d expect.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is now playing in cinemas across Southeast Asia including Australia beginning 21 June 2018 with the rest of the world HERE world from Universal Pictures Pictures Australia. Catch it at Wallis Cinema at Mitcham, Mt. Barker, Noarlunga, Mildura, and Picadilly.
