FCBD 2019 Feature | Comic Odyssey in Fully Booked

04.29.2019 – Comic Odyssey is one of the oldest comic shops based in Manila that has a long storied history that first opened its first branch at the old Market Place in Mandaluyong and then maintained a branch in Robinsons Manila in Ermita (1997-2015). There was a second store that opened in Robinsons Galleria (2006-Present) that has bounced around the mall from its original location to its current place.

Then there were other branches opened but didn’t last longer than three years, but maintained another store inside Fully Booked (2013–Present), where the usual event gathers are held from Comic Book Signings to the annual Free Comic Book Day.


For those who haven’t been into the store here’s a quick view of what to see inside the shop everyone hangs out. The Comic Odyssey inside the Fully Booked flagship store at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig opened on Free Comic Book Day 2013 which begins their collaboration in hosting this event. The store has evolved in the past six years but still retains its overall image as a comic shop that first started in the US in the late 1980s in San Diego and Pasadena California branches, which closed doors before Sandy Sansolis, the store proprietor and founder decided to move back to the Philippines in 2005 with his family.



The Store, Activities, and Events

Today, Comic Odyssey is one of the leading shops in Manila bringing rare and vintage titles and in full support of the local scene as evident as one of the major sponsor in the recently concluded Summer Komikon. The current Comic Odyssey maintains two stores as mentioned with the Robinsons Galleria as the oldest and this branch inside Fully Booked.

Besides the comicbooks, graphic novels, and trades the store carries collectible sports card memorabilia such as rare signed NBA cards and collectible cards games like Yugi-Oh, Pokemon, and Magic: The Gathering to name a few. The store also conducts mini-events for the card gamers as wells as signing events and the annual FCBD.



FCBD Updates and Details

Comic Odyssey was one of the stores to participate in the annual Free Comic Book Day beginning in 2007, which was originally hosted at the Robinsons Galleria branch. But for 2019 the Galleria branch will not be participate this year. Although instead will co-organize the event with Fully Booked in their branch in BGC Taguig.

Besides that Fully Booked will be the one giving away the FCBD titles, the event can be found at the top floor of the store organized by Comic Odyssey.
