DFA Filipino Komiks Lecture Series!

10.17.2013 – The DFA Pinoy Komiks Lecture Series featured Boboy Yozon of PICCA, Prof Emil Flores, Carljoe Javier and Budjette Tan talking about comics then and now how it will be presented outside the Philippines.

There’s a potential interest how Filipino Komiks can move forward in the 21st century and the time is now. The rebirth of Filipino Komiks through the independent movement certainly gave it a new life and interest that propelled some original creations like Trese, Dark Colony, and Elmer,and others gave a community.

DFA Pinoy Komiks Exhibit & Lecture Series!

10.14.2013 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in collaboration of the Philippune Komiks Convention (KOMIKON) brings you “Pinoy Komiks: Transcending Cultures through Creative Fusion.”

This is co-organized by The Cultural Diplomacy Unit (CDU) of the Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations (OUIER) and the Office of the United Nations and other International Organizations (UNIO). It’s a part of the DFA to promote the local culture and possibly bring them outside the Philippines.

DFA Promotes PH Comics & Animation!

09.20.2013 – The Philippine Animation industry and the Comics community is a thriving culture in the country. Both share struggles to provide jobs for aspiring artists and it’s also a difficult challenge how to stay competitive with other regional countries in Asia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs held a special seminar last week inviting representatives from Animation and Comics to talk about concerning issues and what the government can offer to expand their reach that would bring back interest.
