Sights & Higlights: Collectiocn 2014!

09.28.2014 – Collecticon on its 7th year continues to be one of the driving force in hobby related fan fair in the country. Having been established originally back in 1999 the same organizers has been consistent being one of the places to see annually. The hobby driven community ranging from comics, toys, and other interest in collecting is big in the Philippines and Collecticon. It is one the few places you can see why Filipinos have a strong diverse interest in the collecting as a hobby.

COLLECTICON 2014 Celebrates Its 7th Year!

09.23.2014 – COLLECTICON is back on its 7th year for 2014! The organizers of the highly successful TAGCOM brings back one of the original precursor of popular culture conventions related to comics, videogames, and toys. This weekend expect SM Megamall’s Megatrade Hall to attract huge numbers of mall goers to check out some exclusives never seen on retail. This is also an event to interact with local communities who are into collectibles and be part of the annual convention.

Event: Collecticon 2011!

09.06.2011 - Collecticon is back and it’s now a two-day event of toys, comics, cosplays and geeks in-between that has been known in the Philippine popular arts and culture scene. Recently the organizers had run a poster making contest which produced this winning one-sheet. It’s very much promising to be part of Collecticon once again. You the fans asked for it… The organizers obliged and boom! We got two days of Collecticon 2011 heading this October 8-9, 2011 and remember this is FREE entrance since the venue will still be at Robinsons Midtown in Ermita Manila during mall hours. This will be another big event for the toy collectors and geeks alike. The 1,500 square meter venue tells it all that Collecticon has gotten bigger over the years. There will be more retailer tables with toys, comics, and other collectible merchandises. This is one weekend you should not miss! Get ready to save up for those who regularly present in conventions because its going to be a party.

BeatCast!v2 Episode 1 - The Return!

It's been a long time coming... but BeatCast! is back and operational once again! After scheduling conflicts and lots happening on the side, Mark and yours truly, Timzster, have returned to talk about all things popculture! In the first episode of the new direction, we hold the podcast while on the road (literally!), and talk about the past convention we attended early this October, the Collecticon, as well as highlights and news we read up online from last week's epic convention over at New York City, The New York Comic-Con! 

The Crusader's Corner Special: Collecticon 2010!

Last weekend, I attended one of the most outrageous, lively, and wild conventions ever to grace the eyes of collectors around the Philippines. I'm talking about none other than the Collecticon - held at the Midtown section of Robinson's Place. It was a gathering of groups, geeks, and fans of all things popculture, as they converged to sell and trade all things collectible and beyond! Along with me for the ride was my buddy Mark, and together we checked out numerous stalls with lots of toys and deals that were simply too good to pass up!

Collecticon 2010 Day One Coverage!

10.02.2010 - Collecticon 2010 captured the market with its simple brand of concept of giant swap meet for toy collectors, and a special weekend with the family. Its what Saturdays and Sundays should be, and they aim to please the mainstream people in the Manila area.
