05.12.2016 – The ‘Minions’ are taking a backseat right now having its recently home release of both Despicable ME films and spinoff from 2015 being a blockbuster hit. The merchandise however is still around stores but there some that are sold out. Having the Happy Meal toys still one of the most sought after collectibles the other merchandise produced like the Funko Pop art toys are not far behind. But the figurines that have random characters produced by Thinkway Toys are unnoticeable though they are popular too since most of them are based from the movie scenes.

02.10.2015 – The Minions are crazy little yellow-skinned hardworking people. Its Gru’s personal army that became more popular than their master. They literally stole the show from Gru who is the lead character in Despicable Me and its sequel. Now news is that a spinoff revealing their origins are in the works simply titled “Minions” is so apt you don’t need to mention their name. Thinkway Toys produced variations and size of the characters. But the small scale line definitely was a hit that they produced various themes including the Hawaiian Minions like this Hula dancer.

01.15.2015 – The popularity of Minions has become a franchise that dominated with a lot of merchandise all various shapes and sizes. But the popular iteration of the characters would be from McDonald’s Happy Meal toys that literally sold out. But there are action figures too based from their appearances in Despicable ME 2, which dominated 2013 like no other produced by Thinkway Toys. The Collectability of these yellow-skinned servants of grew had a variety of personalities and specific theme and since summer is close the Hawaiian Minions are in the spotlight now…

01.01.2015 – In 2013 Despicable ME 2 was dominated by the yellow in blue uniformed foot soldiers known as the Minions. They’re the dark horse going back to the original feature film from DreamWorks Animation Studios. The merchandise of course was literally sold out due to the driving force of the Despicable ME films, which earned a spinoff telling the origins of the gibberish speaking Minions to have their own animated feature film of the same name.

12.30.2013 – The Minions may have taken the spotlight on the Despicable ME movies, but the original star of the show will always be Gru. A reformed super villain who had grand designs to steal the moon in the first movie until someone beat him to it. The first movie changed the way he thinks as a villain after adopting three little girls, that would evolve him to be the true hero that he was destined to be. In the second film he is shown being a caring father and parent.

12.29.2013 – The popularity of Gru’s henchmen aka The Minions has made 2013 their year. There were several varieties that were released all over the world, which is a total of NINETEEN assortments that was released for the McDonald’s Happy Meal. A few months back during the height of its release the Minions made its Asian debut collecting NINE versions followed by Australia coming out with FIFTEEN, which SIX of those are new additions and then the US followed with two more.

08.25.2013 – The Despicable Me 2 minions featured as the Happy Meal toy between June-July 2013 has stirred a lot of interest that in some regions caused long lines just to complete the versions that came out. The US release was kept secret until the rest of the ones released first in the Asian region got sold out. The ones came out in the US is a combination of the ones that came out in Australia and the Asian region with two new minions introduced only for that country which made it a unique line up.

07.05.2013 – The Minions may be sold out but for those who collect the Despicable Me 2 toys other than Gru’s henchman have a little chance to collect the other characters. Two additional action figures have been sighted yesterday. They are the Collector’s Edition Gru and Agnes just like the three playful minions that were sold out prior to the release of the film these have the same electronic feature. Both figures have more than 30 movie lines based from the original and the sequel. Agnes stands at 11 inch while Gru stands at 14 inches which has a talk back interactive feature.

07.03.2013 – The movie comes out in the US in less than 24 hours and there was no details of what the minions that will come out but thanks to those who followed the updates regarding the releases in some parts of the world.



In the Philippines prior to the movie’s release it was sold out and no word on a restock as previously reported during the premier last Saturday that they have 1.2 million units allotted for the whole duration of the promotions.

06.30.2013 – The Philippine Premier for Despicable Me 2 brought the house down for those got the glimpse of the film yesterday. The minions have totally ruled the cinema and previous merchandise and Happy Meal toys where released. It was held at the new IMAX Theater in SM Aura in Taguig City where long lines for the those who got invited to see the much anticipated sequel was all ready to go. Celebrities and personalities graced the screening among them are Phil and James Younghusband.

06.29.2013 – Who is Agent Lucy Wilde? Of course you've seen her in the promotional trailers for Despicable Me 2. The minions have been a scene stealer but behind the 10,400 little henchmen there are also the other characters like Lucy. Lucy Wilde is a new character who was voiced by Kristen Wig who original voiced Miss Hatie who runs Miss Hatie’s Home for Girls where Gru adopted his three daughters in the first film.

06.27.2013 – The Happy Meal toys that was supposed to be for the month of July 2013 in the Philippines is getting sold out. The film has not been shown yet but the toys previously sighted are getting sold out too notably Dave & Stuart interactive minions.The popularity of the minions solidified as the current favorite group of creatures after Smurfs that put them in the cult status. Speaking of the Happy Meal toys previously confirmed to be a total of fifteen minions were discovered to be more than that combined with nine from Philippines and six from Australia. Reports now that McDonald’s released for their Happy Meal all over the world totaled to SEVENTEEN minions which was discovered in parts of South America having two more not available in other foreign markets.

06.24.2013 – Remember the days during the time when Happy Meal came out with the 101 and 102 Dalmatians during the late 1990s where everyone got caught up with its popularity to collect more than 102 dogs. McDonald’s these days still brings good quality toys but they can only have in selected regions. In the previous stories told about such releases like the Megamind toys stands out that you can’t have them released in all regions. This could be a similar thing with the popular Despicable Me 2 minions which has been selling like hot cakes. McDonald’s Philippines had started selling the minions last June 21st and you have to collect ALL NINE versions.

06.21.2013 – They have landed! Despicable Me 2 toys and merchandise has been sighted in one of the local stores in the Philippines. The minions are back with their mischievous antics that will definitely give Gru a major headache aside from being a new father to three little girls last seen in the first movie. If it wasn’t bad enough to scream “Banana!” surely you will once you see these new action figures, plush toys, figurines and other merchandise related to the upcoming movie from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
