NOVA | 9th Anniversary Group Show

05.16.2019 – In the early 2010s the booming art gallery scene in the Philippines has started to sprout all over Metro Manila. This produced and promoted the artistry for the best of the brightest talents that are making a name in foreign countries abroad.

This also gave birth to art events shows that not only catered to the traditional art form, but reinvigorated the interest thanks to these local galleries. Nova Gallery Manila is one of those haven that put the names to their works and their passion for the arts that had recent celebrated its ninth anniversary.

POST Gallery | PSP X Anniversary

09.11.2016 – The street art community has never been this known if not for its creative way promoting the culture like the Pilipinas Street Plan can accomplish.

For ten years they have been cultivating talent through grass roots and inspiring others. The journey continues with their tenth anniversary celebration at the POST gallery in Cubao X that began with Pablo gallery early in July of this year.

Vinyl on Vinyl | Opening Night Anniversary

09.04.2016 – Its been six years since Vinyl on Vinyl open its doors where its was originally located at The Collective and after three years of art, toys and vinyl, which defined its early years as a small gallery it moved to a bigger venue that focused on the grassroots of the urban culture scene.

The celebrations continue opening "The Out Sounds from Way in: Imaginary Album and Music Show" and “Extended Play” exhibitions. Anniversaries are big and for six years Vinyl on Vinyl redefines their identity why it was originally named for.

Underground | Smalls

08.08.2016 – “Smalls” is a group show featuring twenty eight visual artists with their unique perspective of how to put together the tiniest and impressive art installation in one room.

The Underground Gallery’s limited space hosted a community of the minds. There are colors and dark tones, but set up well balanced with the crowed that captured their attention. Each work stands out for you to think and appreciate every contour of shapes that defies the logic in which they are defined the few.

Vinyl on Vinyl | Hidden Cravings

06.13.2016 – There are cravings for so many things in life and you would be surprise most of those are hidden from individual desires. For Kaloy Reyes Pangilinan it’s all about the “Hidden Cravings” in the pursuit of art that makes it interesting.

A few days earlier Vinyl on Vinyl open their doors for three shows one of them introduced their first art toy the other is a painting exhibition featuring Pangilinan’s solo show that featured his colorful, but subliminal works that surely will give craving for those who appreciate are and his creations.

Vinyl on Vinyl | HAHAN at WRKZ

06.12.2016 – Uji Handoko Eko Saputro (Hahan) first solo show and collaboration with Vinyl on Vinyl Art Gallery also produced his first ever Art Toy for the exhibit “Hahan at WRKZ” that’s on exhibit since opening four nights ago.

The art toy is something of the main part of the exhibit that will be running for the next three weeks at the same time it showcases some of Hahan’s finest artworks that also capture some attention to visitors. The colorful ensemble is what makes his solo show the event being on spotlight at the main gallery that you shouldn’t miss.

Vinyl on Vinyl | Muralla

05.14.2016 –“Muralla” is a group show featured at Vinyl on Vinyl that depicts six works by visual artists expressing their thoughts during their trip to Intramuros. It’s a place they share the perspective of people and places that define this art show.

Visually stimulating works from Eko Canlas, John Lawrence Kanto, Quatro, Quido, Rai Cruz and the mysterious Mr. S takes you to their visual trip through their colroful and visceral creations that certainly eye catching and challenging the mind.

Vinyl on Vinyl | Kingdom of Fiends

05.13.2016 – “Kingdom of Fiends” it’s the latest solo art show featuring James Esguerra which is a mixed of comics inspirations on an acid trip with Beavis and Butthead having a spectacular time jamming with Death Metal music.

Expect the content for this gallery is not-so child friendly, but then again if you have an open mind and try to be a responsible adult you’ll educate the young kid’s right that these works of fiction are only suitable to have parental guidance consent.

Underground | Can't Tell Where Alpha Ends & Omega Begins

05.03.2016 – Juan Alcazaren is a graduate of University of the Philippines with the course of architecture. Recently he’s more known in the art scene with his solo shows in well-established art galleries both local & international.

This is his first solo art show at the Underground gallery, and not only he brings new art works, but also installations that feature his vision using plastic bricks that includes recycled material from broken glass, paper, and plastic.

NOVA | CHILL x NEMO: Arbitrary!

02.22.2016 – Sometimes the best creations can be made not by one but two minds that bring out the best imagination through art. This is evident with street and visual artist collaboration with Chill and Nemo for their two-man show dubbed “Arbitrary.”

This is probably their first collaboration together at the NOVA Gallery Manila, where the art show was launched. It features the best of both artists’ creations as well as a single art that features their style mash up of how it would look together.

Vinyl On Vinyl | TRANSIT.

02.16.2016 – The urban life in the Philippines has produced a place re-imagined as a canvass of artful expressions. Though limited in its space to bring forth that expression Vinyl On Vinyl provided the alternative in miniature trains similar to the subway trains in Chicago or New York.

But these are based from the elevated trains or known as the LRT and MRT in the Philippines that has become part of the culture re-created in small scale artfully repainted in miniature form of graffiti and mural paintings by a talented group.

Vinyl On Vinyl | Arkiv: Imprinted Memories!

02.15.2016 – Arkiv Vilmansa has been doing solo shows almost every year with Vinyl On Vinyl even during its old gallery based at The Collective. The Indonesian born talent still have the strokes and the childish creativity that continues to evolve.

His latest show “Imprinted Memories” gives you a whole lot more to appreciate for his works and just like age the colors continue to be vibrant with every new art introduced that’s inspired from popular culture. There’s no limit what Arkiv can do and still can bring new things to his trademark strokes that simply memorable.

01.22.2016 – Apol Sta. Maria is an accomplished visual artist and comicbook illustrator. He’s been well-documented and known in the independent scene that those who have heard his work like ‘Alamat ng Pangit’ (Legend of the Ugly) have already well accustomed to his creations.

His work as a visual artist expands further not limiting to his popularly known created vision. Apol certainly won’t just sit still and be stuck in a routine he evolves further.

Vinyl on Vinyl: Psychonaut!

09.06.2015 – Welcome to the dark, brooding, and deep perspective of the “Psychonaut” which features Paolo Miguel Borja’s works in collaboration with Vinyl on Vinyl Art Gallery in bringing this exclusive one man solo show.

The gallery features large paintings on canvass by Borja and some unique ones in the second level. This is his second solo exhibit with VoV and has been on the spotlight in the recent Philippine Art Fair and here’s a closer look of the exhibit from last night.

HERAKUT in Manila: Post Live Art Coverage!

08.10.2013 – If you missed another live session with HERAKUT at the Bridge Way in Fully Booked then don’t miss out what would happen today. Yesterday was just a live art session with the amazing duo who painted a large mural in the side of the Book design section and that’s what you call great wall of art.

The session lasted for more than hours where the artists interacted with the audience who witness them go to work. The two German artists is enjoying their first time stay in Manila over the week checking out Philippine culture.
