STGCC 2010 Spotlight: Alex Maleev!

12.01.2010 - Alex Maleev would be known for his work on Daredevil (Vol. 2) with writer Brian Michael Bendis defining the character from Marvel Comics.

The Bulgarian-born comic book illustrator was known for his work in Godanand Carthel of Dead published in Riko magazine since 1991 and 1993.

Maleev finished his run with Bendis in Daredevil and collaborated with the writer on the Spider-Woman series and Halo: Uprising miniseries from Marvel Comics.

Other notable comic titles he worked on with Bendis include the Sam and Twitch series and Scarlet.


He also illustrated and lend his art for The Crow: Dead
Time
, The Crow: Flesh & Blood, The New
Avengers: Illuminati special
, Arabian Nights, Alien vs. Predator, Batman: No Man's Land, Superman vs. Predator, and Hellboy: Weird Tales.

Maleev not only does comic book illustrations but also has movie credits in film. He had also work as storyboard artist for Hollywood movies such as The Bone Collector (1999), Hell's Kitchen (1998), and Great Expectations (1998).

He received the Russ Manning Award in 1996 for Most Promising Newcomer and the prestigious Eisner Award for the best on-going series for Daredevil in 2003.
