Triple Force Friday | Aftermath Sunday
It was Sunday and Force Friday still rages on for the Star Wars fans and the casual converts that got into the world from a galaxy far away. The weekend was not only about the launch of the new toys and other merchandise, but also the photo opportunity to have memories with lifesize characters like the army of First Order Storm Troopers or with fellow Wookie Chewbacca and BB-8 nearby the exhibit area.
This event is for everyone young and old or those having nostalgia in feels. But it won’t be without the toys and merchandise that’s now unpacked and revealed for those who missed out the launch at midnight of 4 October 2019 here’s a rundown of the list of the stuff you might have missed that still at the exhibit.
● LEGO Star Wars
● Hasbro Black Series
● Funko Star Wars
● Hot Toys
● World Balance + Star Wars
● Clothing by SM Young Adult Wear
LEGO Star Wars
Ban Kee Bricks presented a special diorama by one of the local LEGO communities in Manila with previous sets that were already discontinued with one display featuring the latest ones that has been revealed that’s already available locally.
Interestingly enough that you’ll find these sets based from the Rise of Skywalker and a set from The Mandalorian. There are also past sets that continue the 20th anniversary partnership with the toy brand and Lucasfilm.
Hasbro Black Series
The most sought after action figure line from the toy manufacturer that produced Transformers and My Little Pony. Hasbro has delivered some of the best sculpted photo realistic action figures based on the character as portrayed by the actors.
Unfortunately, some of the best ones have been sold out namely The Mandalorian himself and some key characters. Cal Kestis sure needs some love as majority of the character’s action figure is what dominated the shelves on the last day.
Rest assured for those who have never played the videogame “The Jedi: The Fallen Order” will get some interest for this young hero. If there’s a new hope there should be more restocks in local retail soon. In other countries you won’t even see the entire line as reported by SMU Toys at a Target store in Las Vegas.
Funko Star Wars
The Funko Fanatics might be in full force during the launch and there still some interesting characters on the shelf during this recent Sunday before Toy Kingdom staff started packing up and moving them to the main store.
There’s always adoration for these characters in this form and there is a huge following too in Manila. Surely, you’ll be in the hunt for some of the new characters gracing the Rise of Skywalker before the actual film hits cinemas.
Hot Toys
For the high-end collector the upcoming characters are considered a lock. Specially the main heroes in the lot, and there will surely be more reveals as the upcoming film nears its schedule release date in most countries.
Hot Toys has been a constant brand that produced some interesting characters in the past. Star Wars is one of the brands they brought some interesting characters but for this year those First Order Sith Trooper looks like an army waiting to escort Supreme Leader Kylo Ren to a glass display near you.
World Balance + Star Wars
There are sneaker collaborations and then there is World Balance. The Filipino-based original brand has been around since the 1980s producing their version of a topsider to basketball sneakers and then there’s collaboration with Star Wars.
World Balance is one of the shoe brand that partners with Lucasfilm and Disney to produce their version of Star Wars sneakers featuring Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and the First Order Stormtrooper sneakers to name a few that you’ll find at your SM Store and where World Balance shoes are sold.
Clothing by SM Young Adult Wear
The SM Store’s in-house brand has been producing official licences shirts and hoodies that has Star Wars in them since 2005, which was the first time they ever had produced Revenge of the Sith shirts.
It is now 2019 and they’re still continuing producing shirts for teens and adults with their brand of Star Wars clothing that features shirt designs and hoodies. Star Wars fans rushing to the cinema won’t be without wearing this merchandise.
These are just some of the stuff they have revealed and there are furniture too Kenneth Ponbue that was launched last year that are for those siding with the Emperor or just wants to pretend they’re in a TIE Fighter. The event may have wrapped but the countdown to the Rise of Skywalker is less than a hundred days and you still have November to wait for The Mandalorian.
Other than that Toy Kingdom will have more Star Wars toys from Hasbro’s Blask Series and LEGO Star Wars brought to you by Ban Kee Bricks. Surely, it is a great to be a Star Wars fan as 2020 is just a few short months away.
But for now beyond Force Friday there more Star Wars on your way soon!
