Triple Force Friday | Aftermath Sunday

10.08.2019 – It has become sort of tradition to Star Wars fans to attend the Celebration and when it comes to the merchandise launch it was Force Friday starting way back when Force Awakens was introduced as the continuation to the official canon for the blockbuster franchise.

Triple Friday had happened and was launched midnight of Friday 4 October 2019, but the fans had trooped Thursday night to this annual revelry for the toys, merchandise and anything Star Wars in-between. It was done but that doesn’t mean you missed everything. For the casual fans there’s still more that can be relished.

TransFormers + Ghostbusters | Ghosts of Cybertron

06.29.2019 – The 1980s was the golden era of modern pop culture in the 20th Century with properties introduced from animation, movies, videogames, and merchandise. In that era, there are two of those properties introduced in cinema and television that continues to be relevant in other forms of media.

Ghostbusters and Transformers have built upon the cult following with their respective brands that still are marketable and after thirty-five years has been relevant. But what if both of these properties put together a “Collaborative” symbiosis that gives birth to something fresh and out of this world?

Early in 2019’s New York International Toy Fair Hasbro revealed what would be a tie-up with that property and that is with the Ghostbusters brand introducing a newly created Transformers character inspired with the elements of Ghostbusters that would become the Autobot Ectotron that turns into the iconic Ecto-1.

A few months forward to today with IDW Publication revealing that there’s going to be a crossover mini-series featuring these two brands that presented Ectotron!

#FindMajorTom Vintage Action Man Missing!

0705.2016 – Space must be a dangerous place to be even if it’s just about the Earth’s orbit. This is for the reason space programs have been serious regarding safety for astronauts. But for 12 inch action figures could be something different.

The team behind the Art + Science commence a Kickstarter campaign to fund the launch of the Mission Mercury 10 that used a Jubilee 7 capsule that include a classic Palitoy produced Action Man named Bob Tom in Astronaut gear which got lost…

M.A.S.K. Takes Flight in the New IDW Series!

05.03.2016 – Every kid in the 1980s would probably own any action figure based from the popular show M.A.S.K. produced by the former Kenner toy company. The same toy company that manufactured the original Star Wars toys from the mid-1970s.

The series may not be as iconic as Star Wars, but it had a cult following of its own since it highly promoted a toy line and now IDW is reviving it in a new comicbook!

National GoBots Day is April Fools Day!

04.01.2014 – If you happen to be a Transformers fan and were excited about the news regarding the GoBots becoming part of the TF Generations toy line, maybe you’re not reading the tags below and what is the date today.

Your guess April Fools Day is like a trap if General Ackbar from Star Wars would describe the news. But the idea is way past to be intentional as Transformers Philippines has made April 1st as the annual GoBots Day since having it began in 2008.

Toy Sightings: Iron Man 3 Movie Series!

02.21.2013 – The Iron Man 3 promotional starts with the released of the merchandise and what not. If you are an avid enthusiast then this might be to your liking regardless of any form that can be related to the upcoming film.

The huge popularity of Iron Man that began almost 5 years ago is a stat of bigger things either good or bad. The popularity of this character is only rivaled to DC’s Batman which had recently ended its trilogy in 2012. But for Iron Man this is just a beginning not only in the films but in sales of its merchandise.

Marvel Universe: Spider-Woman

Presenting Spider-Woman from the Marvel Universe toy-line. Spider-Woman is has one of the most convoluted origins in the Marvel Universe - with an origin that's more complicated than Wolverine's.

Jessica Drew AKA Spider Woman was born sometime at the turn of the 20th century in London, England (Today she's American by naturalization). She was exposed to radiation from Wundagore Mountain - home of the High Evolutionary and his Knights. Dying from the radiation, her father injected her with an experimental Spider Serum which had no affect on her till the High Evolutionary put her in a genetic accelerator. She was released decades later at the apparent age of only 17. Leaving Wundagore Mountain, she was recruited by Hydra and all the brainwashing and manipulation between Hydra and SHIELD began.

The problem is, there's another Origin Story about her that Marvel released which did away with the radiation story and instead said that while her mom was struck by a laser beam with trace Spider DNA while Jessica was being conceived. The manipulation and brainwashing after that is the only constant.

For a while it was even established the Madame Hydra was really her mother.

Today Spider-Woman is one of Captain America's Avengers - the premiere public team, not the street level team of Luke Cage.

G.I. Joe Renegades Airtight

Presenting from Airtight the GI Joe Renegades Hostile Environment Specialist. The original Airtight is the second G.I Joe to come into my possession way back in the 80s and I was in love with him because of the "Spaceman" look of his uniform and gear - till I realized that he was walking around with a vacuum cleaner. Thirty years later Hasbro reintroduces Airtight in the same environmental suit, but with an entirely different history as they tie him into the G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon.

Corporal Kurt Schnurr CBR (Chemical, Biological and Radiological Warefare) and Ordnance specialist AKA Airtight is now Doctor Kurt Schnurr, a civilian Biochemist. Both are from New Haven Connecticut.

The civilian Dr. Kurt Schnurr actually starts out working with Cobra in the G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon. Together with Dr. Monev (Really? Couldn't figure out that there was something wrong with his name huh?) they develop the Anaconda Strain virus which turns mammals into reptiles. Dr. Monev infects Airtight and the Joes come to rescue him on the behest of Airtight's daughter, Elena.

They rescue him and administer the cure to the Anaconda Strain. The bad news is, the Joes were fooled into rescuing Airtight. Unbeknownst to all... it's a trap! Airtight had been infected for too long a period that he was no longer showing symptoms but was spreading the virus. The Joes rush again to rescue him and Airtight is forced to permanently wear his containment suit while he struggles to find a permanent cure for Anaconda.

Iron Man | Movie Series War Machine!

09.02.2010 - Iron Man 2 was a block buster flick this recent summer, and was a hit that will spawn a third film. But before that the Avengers coming in 2012 would be the movie to see with Iron Man.

If you where not tuned in to online news during SDCC 2010 then your an egg to call yourself a geek.
So far personal reservations to the film is just so-so as compared to the original film that was shown in 2008. But who would avoid watching the War Machine kick some serious ass in the big screen?

08.18.2010 - If you are looking for nostalgia with regard to the vintage G.I. Joe action figures well your in luck. Nova Fontana one of the oldest specialty stores from the 80s have been disposing the old Battle Corps toy line recently. The news is they have closed up since July, but the figures started appearing in other stores like 2Rats and SM Toy Kingdom.

Its like the 90s all over again with these neon and brightly colored soldiers of fortune. Most recently they are priced from PhP 100.00 pesos ($2.00 US Dollars) to PhP 150.00 pesos ($3.00 US Dollars) which is a good steal if your up to it.
