MIBF 2019 | First Day Highlights & More

09.11.2019 – The annual Manila International Bookfair is one of the highly anticipated events of the year. Now on its 40th year the event has grown and taken over the SMX Convention Centre’s top floors. There are books for everyone from educational to graphic novels that is going to be the place to be this weekend.

Besides the annual event there will be activities for participating publishers and bookstores getting authors to appear in one of the scheduled events. Even though the weather won’t agree people still arrive for the first day with some of the much anticipated books getting sold out, but getting replenished after.

Pop Hub | An Event of Mixed Cultures

09.16.2018 – Pop Hub Manila is the latest Fan Festival that is held for the first time in place of the Best of Anime event during the annual International Bookfair at the SMX Convention Centre in Pasay City. The event is geared for the popular culture from local fan communities to Filipino-published works.

Its one of the events that was held over the course of the weekend and its still happening to the last day, which is the 17 of September 2018 as the culmination of the first ever event that has been build up as an event for everyone.

Sights & Highlights: MIBF 2014 + Komikon Sunday!

09.22.2014 – The 35th Manila International Book Fair is not as heavily busy as Saturday, but it has its moments that each exhibitor who highlighted the authors, writers, artists converge in the biggest event that truly shows that Filipinos adored reading.

Komikon Inc. the organizers together with independent self publishing artists was on-hand from the doors opened the morning to the dismantling the last tarpaulin promoted the Filipino Komiks community with such vigor that it went successfully.

Sights & Highlights: MIBF 2014 + Komikon Saturday!

09.21.2014 – As the tropical storm in the Philippines rages out of the country, the 35th Manila International Book Fair pushes on its third day at the SMX in SM Small of Asia. The largest crowd converged Saturday as long lines at the ticketing moved slowly.

Friday was not a good sight as the storm known as “Mario” in the Philippines was flooding some parts of Metro Manila, which forced the exhibitors to close up shop early by 5PM in the afternoon for everyone’s safety, but Saturday is a different story to share.

Best of Anime 2012: Bandai Booth Exhibit!

09.16.2012 – Best of Anime close out with the performance of Japanese rock band Uchu Sentai Noize. But besides the band that made the first day the best event there was there are also the booths that have participated in this year’s event.

One of the booths that certainly have a live activity is the Bandai booth promoting the latest Gundam Age series of model kits and collectibles as well as previous series that made its mark in the Japanese robot genre.

Best of Anime 2012: The Booths and Exhibits at Day 1!

09.15.2012 – Best of Anime on its third year boast not only the talented cosplay competition but also the band Uchu Sentai Noiz who first had their concert in Davao City and now making a big splash at this year’s event.

Selected booths can also be seen at the Best of Anime 2012 which features the Bandai booth courtesy of local distributor Ban Kee Trading as well as gift shops that sell anime inspired merchandise and collectibles rarely seen in other expos.

MIBF 2012: Stanley, Ramon & Tado Pre-Signing Event!

09.13.2012 – Last night was the opening ceremonies to welcome everyone to the 33rd Manila International Book Fair which featured four ambassadors in Carlos Celdran, Stanley Chi, Ramon Bautista, and Tado Jimenez. In the morning Carlos Celdran toured the visitors around the booths at the SMX Convention Center.

In the evening the Bookworms composed of Stanley Chi, Ramon Bautista, & Tado Jimenez had a pre-signing of their individual books that will launched this Saturday as one of the MIBF 2012 highlights!

Photo Coverage at the Manila International Book Fair 2012!

09.12.2012 – The Manila International Book Fair opens its doors today and celebrating its 33rd year. The annual “book convention” is one of the most anticipated events this year in partnership with Book Development Association, Inc. (BDAP)

The biggest book fair in the country not only promotes to continue reading but also promotes education with tag line “Words Without Borders.” The event has a huge turn out last year with eighty five thousand people visiting over three hundred local and foreign exhibitors.
