SDCC '11: Marvel unveils The Avengers teaser poster!

Unveiled over at the San Diego Comic Con and Marvel.com, the first official teaser poster for Disney and Marvel Entertainment's live action film adaptation of The Avengers is finally here! With the impending release of Captain America: The First Avenger this weekend, fans and viewers will get their first glimpse of Earth's Mightiest Heroes by way of a post credits scene after the end of the film! To further hype up the excitement for next year's mega superhero team movie, Marvel has updated the official Avengers site, where you can register for updates and download the poster above for your personal collection! The Dark Knight Rises Update: Teaser Poster revealed.

As speculated and now making its way through several movie news sites like Slash Film, Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan have unleashed the first teaser poster for the next Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises". As you can see above, that's pretty much what it is: A teaser depicted in very twisted manner where the perspective comes from a viewer looking towards towering buildings and sees falling debris raining down, with the image of Nolan's Batman logo at the center and making up the sky.

Now how to interpret what this teaser means, I'm not sure, but Slash Film points out that it may represent Gotham beings destroyed and Batman's eventual rise back into the hero city needs. We won't know the gist of it until more information and trailers revealing details pop in, and speculation by fans is the only source at this point. The official website has also been updated to reflect this new poster's debut, but the teaser trailer hasn't come out yet, and it's rumored to debut this week as well alongside screenings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (Update: Initial reports say it hasn't in certain premieres, but you never know for subsequent screenings). The runtime is also said to be 1:26, and that's been reported by www.albertafilmratings.ca. Be sure to stay tuned for its eventual debut online. Create your own Green Lantern via the "Green Lantern Creator"!

While visiting the official Green Lantern website, I stumbled upon this "Green Lantern Creator" link that allows you to make your very own GL Corps member! Customization however is severely limited, and you can only mix and match body parts of established alien Green Lanterns (sorry fans, no Hal Jordan/ Human type for you to exploit with). Still, the prospect of making your own GL is kinda fun, and after you finish the deed, you can download your creation on Facebook or as a desktop wallpaper! Check out what I did!

Yeah, it's Stel's head attached with the body of a regular GL, and the name's an obvious reference to a certain Autobot leader, but I liked how it also references my name somewhat. Anyhoo, it's also fun to tinker around with this just as Green Lantern week heats up, so visit the official GL website to check this out and some more goodies!
