|09.06.2013 – It’s been anticipated what the new Robocop was all about but previous reports reveal viral marketing about OMINICORP and its fictionalized technology that they innovate as an R & D corporation.
Of course their top of the line model is obviously from Robocop. Not the one from the original 1987 film that had Peter Weller as the lead who recently appeared in last summer’s Star Trek Into Darkness.
But a new film directed by Brazillian filmmaker José Padilha which cast a new actor in Joel Kinnaman. If you haven’t heard about the reboot of the same name based from the original film series check out the premise…
In 2028, multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and honest cop doing his best to fight crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured while on duty, OmniCorp utilize their knowledge in robotics to save Murphy's life. Murphy returns to the streets of his city with new abilities and issues a regular man has never had to face before.
The trailer was also released earlier today and it looks interesting with the ensemble cast that also includes Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Robocop coming to cinemas on February 7, 2014 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D from MG Studios to be distributed by Columbia Pictures!
