| 05.12.2016 – Ubisoft’s most success videogame franchise is set with its first theatrical film starring Michael Fassbender in the lead role. The film was in development that there’s not much news until its first teaser reveal on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The film is set in the same fictional same universe as the video games and other media, which sets up an interesting narrative introducing “Assassins Creed” to a larger audience who never played the game. |
Callum Lynch (Fassbender) is introduced as the new character that discovers that his ancestor Aguilar, from 15th century Spain, was an Assassin. Callum relives Aguilar's memories to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to confront the Templars — age-old enemies of the Assassins — in the present day.
This sets up further reveal in the trailer how he gains that knowledge and also transports him to 15th century Spain just like in the videogames there’s plenty of visually impressive scenes and action sequence below:
“Assassins Creed” is heading to cinemas on December 21, 2016 from 20th Century Fox which is distributed under Warner Bros. in the Philippines!
