Warner Bros. PH: Rurouni Kenshin Sequels in Aug | Sept 2014!

05.26.2014 – If everyone recalled back in 2012 that Warner Bros Picture Studios, the distributor for the Philippines announced that they won’t bring Rurouni Kenshin to local cinemas and someone else picked up the rights to screen it. There was a huge outcry by fans and was dismayed about not seeing the film, which had a huge turned out that prompted SM Cinemas to extend the exclusive showing. It brought huge numbers and this time they are distributing the sequels…

03.04.2013 – Surprising film in Jack the Giant Slayer from Bryan Singer won’t be this epic. If you haven’t seen it definitely you should see how he weaves his perspective in bringing this film as could have be the precursor to his next project. Jack the Giant Slayer has been a surprise hit over the weekend when it was shown almost a week ago and gave those who first saw it more than what they have expected. Singer has done marvelously what he has done in this previous films and he continues to raise that bar a little bit higher.

12.18.2012 – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was a definite thrill to catch in cinemas either in traditional 2D or HFR 3D (High Frame Rate) which opened last December 13, 2012 nationwide. The film brings back of the casts who portrayed pivotal characters from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Director Peter Jackson was present during its red carpet screening a couple weeks back admitting that he can’t deny the interest in helming this film which is a reunion of sorts from the actors who collaborated with him almost nine years ago.

12.15.2012 – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey made its initial run of exclusive by invite screenings the past couple of days prior to the December 13, 2012 opening. The last special screening was for the press media we get the chance to see the film as Warner Bros. last premiere for 2012. The event features the Tolkien Society group as well as foreign visitors representing the New Zealand Embassy.

12.07.2012 – The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is less than a week before it gets released but for those who are the fans of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy can’t wait to see the film. The excitement is building up for those who have passionately read Tolkien’s books.

Warner Bros. Philippines: No Rights for Rurouni Kenshin.

08.24.2012 – There’s news that Rurouni Kenshin might be shown internationally in selected region but the hopes of having the film shown in the Philippines was immediately shut down by Warner Bros. Studios Philippines revealing that “we don’t have the rights” to bring it to the country.



So whatever internet uprising has been going around in the social media the chance for this film to be brought to the country is pretty much slim to none and its too late. Unless a massive turn out would change the local distributor to push in finding ways to acquire the license to have it shown.
