The Simpsons Couch Gag: Disney Tribute!

04.23.2016 – “The Simpsons” coach gag reel has become part of the show’s element and over the years it evolved into a trend that either parody an existing show or having guest animators makes their own version by paying tribute from their work.

Eric Goldberg is the guest-animator for the Simpsons couch gag paying tribute to Disny. Being associated with the house of mouse that includes Aladdin, Pocahontas, and the upcoming Moana this couch gag might be one of the best.

The couch gag opens up to Walt Disney’s animated classic in history with a brief tour that begins with Maggie in a “Steamboat Willie” tribute, and then moves through several other films as the rest of the family shows up. Lisa steps out of Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage while Marge uses her vacuum as a broom while Snowball and Santa’s Little Helper lend a hand to the strains of “Whistle While You Work”. (For those paying attention you can also spot the three-eyed crow.)

Then finally Homer, styled to look like Baloo from The Jungle Book, amasses a pile of snacks. Lastly, it all goes back to reality once Bart, as Fantasia’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice, turns everyone back into their usual Matt Groening-ed appearance.

These couch gags gets better every time a new episode comes out and if the previous ones are quite the impression this one from Eric Goldberg is memorable.
