| During the Asia Pop Comic Con in Manila, I got to meet and interview Billy Tan. A Malaysian-American, he is one of the few Asian artists that made it big in the comic book industry.
His notable work on the flagship title for Green Lantern starting with issue #21 with writer Robert Venditti who took over Geoff Johns as the writer would garner further attention in his career. |
| 05.11.2014 – Charlie Adlard, the British comic book artist popularly known for The Walking Dead series with creator Robert Kirkman. He started his work in TWD since 2004 with issue #7 and currently in the Philippines courtesy of Fully Booked.
Its Charlie Adlard’s first trip to the Philippine Islands who arrived Friday, and was at the Fully Booked flagship store accompanied by store CEO Jaime Daez by Saturday afternoon. The event started past 2:10 PM for the Q & A then followed by a signing event at 3:30 PM. |
| 10.06.2013 – The resurgence of Philippine “komiks” is undeniable and continues to capture inspiration that breeds new talents. In this growing community comic books is still considered a child’s reading material.
But for the middle class it’s a potential marketing vehicle for something big. In reality it’s tough to break into the comics industry unless you have the right connections which have the right people to guide you to land in a career like well-known artists have thread. |
 | 12.09.2012 – Last night Panel By Panel guest Lim Cheng Tju and Otto Fong creator of Sir Fong’s Adventures dropped Comic Odyssey. Together with them is Otto’s friend Han looking very much overwhelmed with the indie komiks in one shelf.
Lim Cheng Tju the country editor for Singapore’s International Journal of Comic Art and co-editor for Liquid City 2 that was published by Image Comics was fascinated about the growth of Philippine comics that he bought most of the titles that stood out in his sight. |
 | 05.19.2012 – Michael Golden best know for his works in Micronauts and The Nam for Marvel Comics was Treasure Island Comics’ special guest and he be will at the upcoming Big Wow Comic Con 2012 all weekend.
Our good friend who is based in San Francisco USA shared his time meeting up with Mr. Golden. Actually our correspondent won a special puzzle that Treasure Island Comics had thrown in which he got a special print of Michael Golden’s work. The staff at the store was thrilled that our correspondent was the first to solve the puzzle and he got one of Mr. Golden’s original prints as the prize. |
| 05.18.2012 – Comic Book Legend Ernie Chan passed away and another great will be missed after Tony DeZuniga who recently died last May 11, 2012. There are no specific details about his death only news where his wake is going to be held. The news came from Whilce Portacio and Mark Torres on separate updates via Facebook.
Ernesto “Ernie” Chan is known for his work on Marvel Comics version of Conan The Barbarian and also worked with DC Comics in the Batman books (Batman and Detective Comics) as wells as doing computer designs, TV, and movie animation. |
 | 03.18.2012 – David Finch is finally in Manila! We thought he won’t make it until the news that highlighted the cancellation of his tour. This was about his passport forgotten to be renewed but unlike in the Philippines where you have to go through a lot just to apply one he had it updated in a week. Earlier at 11AM Finch sat with bloggers for a special interview and the sub group of Justice PH known as Gotham Nights which provided flair to the event that was billed as one of Fully Booked’s biggest draw since Neil Gaiman conquered the wall of sound in 2005. |
