Magneto Leads in the Uncanny X-Men #1!

01.13.2016 – How many times does Uncanny X-Men would start at issue number one? It’s been a while since they lasted below six hundred issues and the comic book industry has changed the one things started at number one all over again.

There’s been a little bit of discussion about the future of mutants and what their role in the new Marvel universe post-Secret Wars. It’s quite surprising that they still kept this franchise or what’s left of the list of characters alive in moving. But this time they gave them a new threat to their extinction.

This is not the first time they have encountered their numbers dwindled by some legacy virus. Marvel could have ‘retired’ them the way they handled the disbanding of the Fantastic Four since they can’t get their movie rights back from the current studio that made the mockery of the recent film.

But there are some good points to tell a story about the X-Men in their state of being endangered species that produced a little bit conflict with the Inhumans that had a similar concept to their genome.

Building Worlds with David Hontiveros: A feature on Philippine Daily Inquirer!

The blog has new purpose and that is to give a more pronounced presence for my award winning Uncle on social media (I'm his Social Media pimp so to speak- Social Media Manager is a better way of putting it also :p)

I mentioned on a recent post that my uncle - Author, writer and comic book writer - David Hontiveros will be featured on this Sunday's Philippine Daily Inquirer Sunday Magazine, I picked up a copy of the newspaper this morning and unfortunately the feature wasn't there. I've been informed that there was a delay in the printing and that it would be available on the November 9 edition but no need to be sad since there is already a digital copy of the article available!

Lumpen Culturati: Talks w/ Francis Quina on Morning Glories!

12.18.2013 – When you talk about “Morning Glories” it doesn’t sound like a mystery comic book, but rather something you remove from your eyes upon waking up. Carljoe talks about the Image Comics published series with Francis Quina on Lumpen Culturati.

The ongoing series by Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma is a mind-blowing ride, and Francis and Carljoe talk about what makes this great. A good deal of that is how it's a lot like one of their favorite shows, Lost, but it's also a mix of teen drama and high school stuff...
