08.07.2016 – On its fifth year promoting self-published works Komikon Indieket continue to cultivate the grassroots for its original creativity at the same time give the featured artists as main guest as the spotlight for this show. This is Komikon Inc’s second event of the year that would culminate on the main event that closes the calendar year in contributing to the growth of the local komiks scene in the Philippines. For Indieket this the guest spotlight features Edgar Tadeo, Melvin Calingo, Aaron Felizmenio and Freely Abrigo as part of Komiks Kalye.

Sights & Highlights: SIXTY SIX Signing Event!

06.13.2015 – SIXTY SIX the graphic novel was launched earlier today at Comic Odyssey in Fully Booked which also give the artists the chance to meet their local fans who followed the series when it was first released in 2013 as single issues. The compiled edition which is published by ANINO will also include the fourth and final chapter of the series that is exclusive to this release.

Nautilus Comics: What Arnold Arre Revealed on His Talk!

12.07.2014 – Nautilus Comics organized a small talk featuring Arnold Arre who recently re-released two of his works from the early 2000s. The first one was “Trip to Tagaytay” a short story penned is as a sort of love letter to wife Cynthia Arre. The second book is the “Mythology Class”, a 2000 National Book Award the very first graphic novel to receive such award by the Manila Critics Circle. It was released at Komikon 2014 with three different covers that were long awaited.

The blog has new purpose and that is to give a more pronounced presence for my award winning Uncle on social media (I'm his Social Media pimp so to speak- Social Media Manager is a better way of putting it also :p)

I mentioned on a recent post that my uncle - Author, writer and comic book writer - David Hontiveros will be featured on this Sunday's Philippine Daily Inquirer Sunday Magazine, I picked up a copy of the newspaper this morning and unfortunately the feature wasn't there. I've been informed that there was a delay in the printing and that it would be available on the November 9 edition but no need to be sad since there is already a digital copy of the article available!

Inside The Dark Colony's Demon Dungeon!

05.27.2013 – The Dark Colony: Book 1 Mikey Recio & The Secret of The Demon Dungeon is a mouthful long title for a super natural all-original Filipino graphic novel. But the title lives up to its creators in Budjette Tan (Co-Creator of Trese), Bow Guerrero and J.B. “Taps” Tapia that define the super hero genre. The Philippines is rich with folklore that Neil Gaiman once said that he’s been impressed for its culture and that’s been being the concept of this book. Dark Colony is action packed super natural adventure featuring a teenage hero in Mikey Recio.
