Non-Spoiler Review: Marvel's The Avengers

Finally, the assembly officially begins!

Opening in theaters today, April 25th, in international theaters, Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, and Marvel Studios proudly present the crowning jewel and long anticipated superhero team up movie everyone has been waiting for - The Avengers! The culmination and fruit of four years of work since 2008's Iron Man ushered in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally here, and it's bringing out a storm of fans and viewers into theaters the world over. Anyone who's followed all five films of Marvel Studios knows that everything is connected and has led up to this. While it has yet to open in US cinemas until May 4th, this Spoiler-Free review will give you an idea of just why you should see this comic book film dream come true if you still have any reservations. That being said, read away and learn why it's awesome, true believers! Also, if you do watch, finish the whole thing to the end, and don't leave while the credits roll!

The Avengers: New clip debuts featuring Maria Hill and Nick Fury!

With just a few weeks to go before it gets released in theaters, the hype and excitement for The Avengers is getting bigger and bigger! With that said, Cinema Blend has posted up an article which features a clip from The Late Show with David Letterman, where Cobie Smulders was featured as guest! Those who have been following the news on The Avengers knows that Ms. Smulders plays Agent Maria Hill, and this clip gives us a good look at her character, featuring a discussion between her and her boss Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) during a tense situation at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters! SPOILERS here of course, so view at your own risk!

The Avengers: More character posters and an international poster!

As the hype continues to grow for Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures' blockbuster superhero team flick The Avengers, so does the list of posters! Following the reveal of the new character posters, Comic Book Movie has posted up a new batch that feature and spotlight two more members, namely the mighty avenger Thor and S.H.I.E.L.D leader Nick Fury! Take a look!

The Avengers appear on Disney's D-23 Expo!

Over at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, the stars and people behind Disney and Marvel Studios' upcoming epic 2012 superhero team movie "The Avengers" assembled at the Walt Disney D23 2011 Expo to talk about the movie and present some awesome footage for lucky attendees over there to see. Highlighting the cast present there of course was Robert Downey Jr., aka Tony Stark and the Invincible Iron Man, as well as Jeremy Renner/ Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson/ Black Widow, Cobie Smulders/ Maria Hill, Tom Hiddleston/ Loki, and Chris Hemsworth, the mighty Thor himself! Lead by Marvel Studios' President Kevin Feige and joined by Walt Disney Chairman Rich Ross, the team screened a special reel of what is approximated to be about 4 minutes worth of exclusive footage from the Joss Whedon directed Avengers, comprised of scenes that highlight the Hulk, Nick Fury, Loki, and the rest of the Avengers team! Captain America Update: New scene filmed last Saturday!

Reported in ComingSoon and SuperHeroHype, a new scene was filmed this past Saturday for Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios' second upcoming superhero flick "Captain America: The Firs Avenger". The scene, filmed in New York City's famous Times Square, has Chris Evans' Steve Rogers interacting with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury. It doesn't take a fan to realize the significance of this particular scene, but those who don't get it should know this is practically a SPOILER, and it leads up to the upcoming Avengers film next year (as well as another Cap movie). Samuel L. Jackson confirms Nick Fury will appear in Thor and Captain America!

Regardless of the fact that he stated once before that he would not be appearing on either Thor or Captain America: The First Avenger, it appears that things have turned around, and Samuel L. Jackson has now confirmed that he will indeed be making a cameo appearance as Nicholas Joseph Fury in those films, in addition to his confirmed appearance The Avengers movie! According to a post on Slash Film, Sammy J will be filming one-day shoots for both films for the cameo appearance, which have a good chance of being post-credit scenes involving the director of S.H.I.E.L.D and something that ties the respective hero's movie to the big superhero film of 2012! There's also rumors going about that Sam's got a female companion set to join him in The Avengers. Could this be his second in command in S.H.I.E.L.D, Maria Hill perhaps, or Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp? Only time can tell for sure once more updates pop up.
