All things RE in 2012 with Resident Evil 6 and Re5ident Evil: Retribution!
It seems Capcom is having a big 2012 with all things Resident Evil (also known as Bio Hazard in Japan). Not only do we get a trailer for the next movie starring Milla Jovovich as Alice, but also one for a NEW GAME slated for release at the end of this year, and it stars none other than the main male leads of the series, Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy! Thanks goes to Kotaku and Comic Book Movie for the news!

Timzster Reviews: Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
*Originally posted in Timzster
When Marvel Vs Capcom 3 exploded onto the console scene this year, it brought back a lot of that old school flair, nostalgia, and appeal fighting game fans were long craving for. Following the path of Street Fighter IV, it swapped two dimensional graphics in favor or a brush art styled 3D graphics engine, whilst retaining classic 2D brawl gameplay so as not to alienate veterans of the series.

Following the path of Street Fighter IV, it swapped two dimensional graphics in favor or a brush art styled 3D graphics engine, whilst retaining classic 2D brawl gameplay so as not to alienate veterans of the series.
Now, a new "upgrade" of the game has finally been released. Called "Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3", new characters, stages, and gameplay additions have been added to this latest entry of the VS series. It pretty much lives up to the reputation Capcom has garnered with its fighting games by rereleasing them with "updated features" and quirks.

Coverage: Dead Zone's Zombiethon 2011!
It's November 11, 2011 (or 11-11-11 as it were), and now that I've had some time in my hands, I've finally gotten around to completing the almost 2 week old Zombiethon video compilation that I promised to deliver. In case you missed out what that was all about, here's the 101 again on what transpired!

On October 30, 2011, right in the heart of Makati City Philippines, local zombie fan group Dead Zone organized the second annual "Zombiethon" zombie walk, which was open to all undead lovers and ghoulish fans out there! Being one of those itching to go, I suited up as the main protagonist of AMC's The Walking Dead himself, Sheriff's Deputy Rick Grimes, and proceeded to meet with the rest of the zombie trope in the meeting point located at the heart of Makati City. While we certainly lacking in number, there were enough zombies to cause panic, terror, and havoc as we treaded in the streets. Joining me along for the fun were guys dressed as Raccoon City survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Hunk from the Resident Evil series. We even had a visit from "Hulk Hogan" himself! The zombies themselves had "interesting" faces in their numbers, including a Silent Hill-like nurse ghoul, kid zombies, and even a zombie that looked like Jesus!
Despite the minimum attendance, everything went great, and I even got to choreograph some scenes for good photo op shots! I'd like to thank the guys at Dead Zone again for organizing Zombiethon 2011, and I'm looking forward to the next event soon! For more info on the group, visit the official Dead Zone Facebook Page!
Now, here's the video in all its undead and Gonk-like manner! Enjoy!
Song is "The Gonk" from the original Dawn of The Dead (1978).

HADOUKEN! Happy 20 Years, Street Fighter II!

OH.MY.GOD... STREET FIGHTER II IS TWENTY YEARS OLD?!
Yes, apparently it is. It's March 2011, and the game came out on March 1991... and now that Capcom-Unity was nice enough to point that out, I have to post down a tribute to celebrate this classic's birthday!
Ok, let me get my bearings and let that thought sink in. It's been two decades... TWO DECADES since this sucker hit arcades, and it literally changed my perception of video games entirely as soon as I laid my hands on it. I not only want to post just to commemorate 20 strong years of Hadoukens, Shoryukens, and Sonic Booms, but I also want to reminisce about how I came to love the experience and thrill of playing fighting games because of this masterpiece... and how it defined me as a gamer altogether until this very day.

Crusader Video Game Review: Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds
After much teasing, planning, and a long wait to endure... Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds FINALLY arrives in consoles the world over for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 entertainment systems. After 11 years since Marvel Vs Capcom 2 hit arcades and caused a stir, a true sequel has finally been released, and people are definitely playing this one and talking about it. The question however stirring in everyone's mind now though is "Did it meet expectations"? Well, the short answer is a resounding "YES", but we'll get into that a little bit later. I bought the PS3 Collector's Edition version of this game yesterday, and I'm enjoying everything as I write this review. Do take a moment to simmer down, relax, and read this article as cautiously as possible. I've been a fighting game player for most of my life, and what I say in this review serves up only to my opinions regarding the game's performance based on my expectations, nothing more, nothing less. With that, let's take things for a ride and get the show on the road!

With February 15 just a few days away, the hype for Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate Of Two Worlds is getting bigger and bigger! Once you get rid of them, the devourer of worlds attacks, and the fate of the world rests on your shoulders now! Check out the character video to see what I mean!

Super Street Fighter IV Update: The 3DS is getting Special Move Hotkeys...
Super Street Fighter IV is getting new releases in two different platforms. One is the franchise's original home, the arcades, and the game's going to get new tweaks and characters added to its roster in the form of Yun and Yang. The other platform is the Nintendo 3DS, the new portable gaming system Nintendo is gearing for release early next year. From the trailers and screenshots released, the port looks a lot faithful to its console counterpart, with its graphics understandably scaled down to compensate for the 3DS' requirements.
However, more pressing and slightly disappointing news appears via way of Kotaku. It appears that Capcom will be giving SSFIV 3DS access to 4 hotkey slots that players can assign moves and special moves to, allowing players to dish out punishment at the press of a button. While it may sound like good news that a simplified way has come to play Street Fighter, I'm not one of those favoring this mechanic being implemented. The game of Street Fighter has always been about challenging oneself and mastering moves and combos in order to improve one's skills. This eliminates any challenge from the equation, and practically makes the game "easy mode" on the go. Fine that beginners get this option to make it easier for them, but it won't teach them how the game is played properly. You play the game the only way it should be played - either with a controller or arcade stick, and the video below demonstrates how those tried and true rules apply to skilled veterans.Anyway, Super Street Fighter IV arrives in arcades this December and launches for the 3DS in Japan on February 26, 2011.

Video Game Review: Dead Rising 2
Zombie season seems to be in full swing these days, especially with a lot of great stuff popping out of the woodwork that use the undead ghouls as plot material to bake into stories full of blood, carnage, and gore. Thanks to the influence of zombie lore godfathers like the great George A. Romero, you can expect popculture to utilize the "zombie apocalypse" scenario anywhere at any given time, and it could literally explode in your face just as fast as the ghoulish epidemic spreads with just a single bite.
