08.07.2016 – On its fifth year promoting self-published works Komikon Indieket continue to cultivate the grassroots for its original creativity at the same time give the featured artists as main guest as the spotlight for this show. This is Komikon Inc’s second event of the year that would culminate on the main event that closes the calendar year in contributing to the growth of the local komiks scene in the Philippines. For Indieket this the guest spotlight features Edgar Tadeo, Melvin Calingo, Aaron Felizmenio and Freely Abrigo as part of Komiks Kalye.

07.31.2014 – Komikon Indieket is just a few days away and this is the second event that celebrates 10th year of the Philippine Komiks Convention (Komikon) and there will be new works that will be unveiled. If you missed Summer Komikon last April this is your next stop on the first Saturday of August. It’s clearly going to be something to look forward to with the gamut of new material and meeting friends in the Philippine comics industry surely this is the right place to spend your weekend.

Sights & Highlights at Indieket 2013!

08.12.2013 – Indieket this year was laid back despite the volume of people went to check out their local artists and their works. It was bigger than the previous year and there were several new comics and launches that made this event truly special. The doors opened at 10 AM there was already long lines that formed outside the Bayanihan Center. Upon entering you’ll see there were already comic shops that have set up their booth ready for you to dig into their back issue bins. Among the vendors who participated, Filbar’s have something more to reveal with their mini exhibit.

08.10.2013 – Filbar’s presences at Summer Komikon was the beginning and their launching of the concept store was just a tip of the iceberg. For Indieket it’s something new and that direction is going to astound you.



Their participation in the Indieket happening today will be something for you to check it out at their booth. It’s something that has been done in the urban lifestyle community and it will be a first for you to see it at Indieket 2013!

IndieKet 2013: Event Details & More!

08.09.2013 – Komikon Indieket is back on its second year focusing on the independent publishing where new Filipino made comics gets introduced. If last year’s event brought in new material and introducing artists who had their work sold out then the second one will be a little bit bigger.



Indieket gives spotlight to the small market that you rarely see in your local comic shop. It’s where original material gets discovered away from established publishers. It’s more like what APE (Alternative Print Expo) does in the US.

Komikon: Indieket 2012 Convention Coverage!

07.14.2012 – Komikon’s Indieket had a huge turn out and this event was geared to promote the independent Philippine comics scene. The event definitely gave the independent comic book publishers a voice that is hardly noticed in other conventions in the country. Komikon has definitely re-energized the Philippine comic book scene promoting the local culture since its inception in 2005. The rest followed suit giving the independent publishers a chance to promote and bring back the “Komiks” industry AND make this a reality.

The End For Amber's Adventure in Ambush Comics?

07.06.2012 – Could this be the end for Ambush aka Amber? Andrew Villar’s creation which originally serialized on the broadsheet of Manila Bulletin has taken us to her adventures far and wide.



Amber has her hands full this time facing a mysterious enemy which will be revealed in the upcoming Ambush comic book from Core Studious. The character has been that caught our curiosity when Ambush had her original Multiply.com site.

Komikon Indieket 2012 Full Details Announced!

06.04.2012 – As revealed by John Zamar creator of Bathala Komiks in his Facebook the announcement of the Komikon Indieket which will happen on July 14, 2012. It caters to the up and coming indie publication.

This reminds us what the Comic-Con in the US after SDCC which is the same organizers who brought you A.P.E (Alternative Publishing Expo) on its 19th year. For the Komikon Indieket it’s a great market to promote the new blood of talents in the country.
