Flying Colors Comics Celebrates with Jim Lee!

08.24.2013 – Flying Colors Comics and Other Stuff has been around for the past 25 years and it was known to have founded Free Comic Book Day by store proprietor Joe Field. For the month of September the store is celebrating its anniversary. Flying Colors Comics earned the 1995 Will Eisner "Spirit of Comics" Award for Retailing Excellence, a "Hall-of-Fame" award recognized internationally among comic book professionals. So for this coming month they will have Jim Lee at their store.

STGCC 2012: Batman, Disney, & SpongeBob at Play Imaginative!

09.01.2012 – Play Imaginative has been around to bring toy and character designs and they have nrrm present since the very first Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention as one of the key players in the interest exclusive collectibles released figures. The highlight for STGCC 2012 is the introduction of the 1/6 Scale Super Alloy Series featuring Batman based from the unique vision of Jim Lee. The 12 inch figure comprises of 85% die-cast metal alloy with more than 50 points of articulation.

Justice League #12 cover reveals Superman/ Wonder Woman as a couple

Revealed by Entertainment Weekly, the variant cover to Justice League #12 by artist Jim Lee paints a new status quo in The New 52 era of DC Comics - Superman and Wonder Woman are now literally a "power couple", shown in this cover to be hovering and teasing a passionate kiss during the sunset. With Lois Lane dating somebody else other than Clark Kent, this leaves the door open for the Man Of Steel to date the Amazon Warrior for real. DC Chief Creative Officer and JL writer Geoff Johns says the relationship is legit, and "it will have an impact that reaches far beyond the ultimate power couple". SDCC 2012: Jim Lee at DC University!

07.12.2012 – The Preview Night has given us some snippets on what to see in this year’s SDCC 2012 and our team is preparing for war on day 1. There will be some interesting properties that will be launched or being announced towards the events festivities.



Comic-Con is vast and DC Entertainment has a lot of surprises at their booth #1915 for you to check it out besides that their primary launch promotes the upcoming Dark Knight Rises that will be shown internationally on July 19, 2012 in selected country’s such as the Philippines there’s plenty more where is at.

DC The New 52: Geoff Johns and Jim Lee discuss JL, Pandora, and the Trinity War

After teasing things to come next year via the one-shot Free Comic Book Day issue of "DC The New 52 FCBD Edition", DC Comics' own Geoff Johns and Jim Lee discuss more about their upcoming crossover event next year "Trinity War", as well as Pandora, the mysterious woman who was a key figure at the end of Flashpoint and the beginning of The New 52 era of comics. MTV Geek has conducted a couple of interviews with Johns and Lee, who go on to discuss more about Volume 2 of Justice League, as well as who Pandora and the Trinity of Sin are. SPOILER: DC Comics Trinity War info and FCBD Gatefold surfaces

Reports have been swirling online that DC Comics was planning a major event for 2013 called Trinity War, which would be the first big thing happening for their New 52 universe. Now via Bleeding Cool, concrete details have finally emerged, and it's packed with SPOILERS. It's not so much a Marvel Civil War styled throwdown by the Big Three as initially expected, as more elements are at play than realized. One thing for certain is that the mysterious woman Pandora plays into it. DC Comics unveils Jim Lee's FCBD New 52 Cover

DC Comics has unveiled the cover fans will undoubtedly talk about and want: Jim Lee's cover artwork to their Free Comic Book Day book entitled DC Comics The New 52 FCBD Edition! Besides illustrating the cover you see above, Lee will also illustrate five pages of the free book being given away on May 5, 2012, including a four-page gatefold that introduces a new storyline for Justice League, a book that he and writer Geoff Johns have launched and are currently doing for The New 52!

As Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment, Lee's work has been highly valued in the comic book world, and he's known for his works in comic books such as Wildcats, X-Men, Batman: Hush, and now Justice League. As a fan of his works, this is a stellar cover featuring the trinity of DC heroes - Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Right at the background is the mysterious Pandora, who was first introduced in the pre-New 52 storyline Flashpoint and has been seen watching events from behind the scenes. One has to wonder what kind of story the New 52 FCBD will provide besides being a primer of the new DC Universe. USA Today talks with Jim Lee about the new DC Universe!

Within the week and whether people like or not, DC Comics will make history by bringing an end to their old continuity of comics and ushering in a new one that they have affectionately called "the new 52", which is comprised of 52 new #1 books that will release throughout the month of September and bring forth the new DC Universe. It begins this Wednesday actually with the release of Flashpoint #5 and the all-new Justice League #1, so to promote this milestone event even further, USA Today has gone ahead and conducted an interview with the artist of the latter issue and co-publisher of DC Comics, Jim Lee! Via their official blog The Source, DC Comics has revealed their variant cover to Justice League #1, which is illustrated by David Finch. The book, penned by Geoff Johns and pencilled by Jim Lee, will usher in "The New 52" continuity of DC Comics, and will see official release on newsstands and comic book shops come August 31. Comic Book Review: DC The New 52 #1

Technically this isn't a "comic book" per se, but with all the hype and buzz building up, plus the fact that it has a #1 numbering attached to it, I have every reason to believe that DC Comics may start producing a series of "preview books" each month that are similar to the competition (i.e Marvel Previews). So without further ado, let's begin the review proper.

Since the big announcement last month that they were going to revamp the universe and relaunch majority of their books, DC Comics has earned both the ire and admiration of its entire fanbase. After over 70 years of publishing comics and characters that have remained mostly true and unchanged in structure, the publisher (under the direction of co-publishers Dan Didio and Jim Lee) has decided to give a complete makeover to their titles and heroes, paving the way for a bold and new direction which they have dubbed "The New 52".

DC Comics reveals the full newly redesigned look of the Justice League.

Jim Lee's picture of the fully redesigned look of the Justice League of America leaked and broke all over the comic news spectrum, as sites like Newsarama and Comic Book Resources have featured it in their respective websites. You can take a look at the full pic below, which is the spred cover to issue # 2 of the soon to be relaunched Justice League series.

Penny for your thoughts? We've already seen the new lineup's look before courtesy of the cover to issue #1 when the DC Comics Reboot was first announced, but this is the first time we're actually seeing the entire league's redesign from head to toe, as they stand together tall and proud. Justice League #1: The Full Cover revealed!

Via Comic Book Resources, here is the full cover to Justice League #1, written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Jim Lee. The issue, launching this August 31st, will be the first of a series of about 52 titles to be relaunched for DC Comics new initiative to "reboot titles for the modern age". What you see above is also the new redesigns for the costumes of DC's greatest heroes in the Justice League. Geoff Johns certainly wasn't kidding when he said "Everything you know will change in a flash" via Flashpoint, and now we know the answer on what will happen AFTER Flashpoint ends. New looks all around for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg (as illustrated b Jim Lee), and it's looking like the 90's for some all over again. Well, we'll just have to wait and see how everything goes.

DC Comics reboots their continuity, with landmark day digital distribution!

Looks like the rumors weren't kidding after all... And what news to kick off the first day of June!

Via USA Today and their own blog The Source, DC Comics has officially announced that beginning this 31st of August, most of their titles will be renumbered and restructured to be released on the same day both in print and digital media altogether. Through its 76-year long history of publishing characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash, the company will revamp their titles for "a more modern and diverse 21st century"

The first book announced and to be launched in this new #1 direction will be Justice League #1, to be written by DC Entertainment scribe and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, while illustrations will be handled by DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee. This will be the only issue, aside from the final issue of Flashpoint (the storyline the ends the old DC universe continuity and brings forth the new), that will see publication on August 31, offering a new beginning for new and contemporary DC readers to catch up on. Batman gets Jim Lee and Brian Azzarello in Batman: Europa!

After making his mark in Batman: Hush and illustrating arguably one of the most memorable depictions of The Dark Knight, DC Co-Publisher and artist Jim Lee will once again pencil Batman in January's upcoming four issue mini-series, Batman: Europa. Lee, however, will only be drawing issue number one, so that leaves writer Brian Azzarello to team up with three other artists, namely Giuseppe Camuncoli, Diego Latorre, and Jock. The story involves Batman teaming up with his archnemesis, The Joker, as he seeks a cure for a virus that has infected him, forcing him to team up with the Clown Prince of Crime against all odds!
