Secret Spy Factory by Sonny Liew!

10.08.2012 – Sonny Liew the Eisner-nominated artist who created the world of Malinky Robot also known for his works on My Faith Frankie, Wonderland, Sense and Sensibility to name a few has been consistently adding up his long list of works and his passion for drawing is quite inspiring.

During STGCC 2012 he also has his other works on display and as a gift from the rising artist he gave us the chance to see his other works in the art book “Secret Robot Spy Factory” which was originally published in 2008 which took the name after his blog.

09.26.2012 – Malinky Robot is an adventure of two street urchins in Atari and Oliver which collects five stories by Eisner-nominated artist Sonny Liew (My Faith Frankie, Wonderland, Sense and Sensibility) set in the near future of San’ya.

The moment you open the first few pages of the graphic novel it takes you this world where these two kids journey in these five stories that Sonny Liew shares compiling the short stories of Stinky Fish Blues, Bicycle, Karakuri, New Year’s Day, and Dead Soul’s Day Out.

STGCC 2012: Falcon's Hanger feat. Thunderscats!

09.03.2012 – Falcon’s Hanger one of the exhibitors who participated in the recently concluded Singapore To Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) not only have a booth promoting their store they are the ones who brought in the an exclusive.

This particular exclusive is based from an episode of the classic series from the 1980s which prompt them release a red version of the Lion-O 8” figure which eventually reveals to be Mumm-Ra the Thundercats’ powerful nemesis.

STGCC 2012: The Tour at the Hot Toys Booth!

09.02.2012 – The exclusive for STGCC 2012 has been revealed and the first day was a welcoming sight for first time and regular visitors of the Pop Culture Event in Asia. Hot Toys is turning up the heat in the red dot island with their line-up of collectible figures.

The media preview day revealed for the first time some of the figures that will be officially available during STGCC and convention exclusives are not the only highlight for this event this also features the guests namely the toy designers who made these wonderful and well detailed collectibles.

09.02.2012 – Vinyl on Vinyl’s first appearance at Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention was greeted with warm welcome with their partners 8-Bit Media and Invasion Comics & Collectibles.

Ever since Vinyl on Vinyl opened in 2010 we’ve been part in helping promote their gallery and launches.

STGCC 2012 has VoV present two distinct talents in Wendy Chew and Gabby Tiongson who are the main artists at the booth.

09.02.2012 – The last day of Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) was a memorable one with the full roster of Filipino guests led by Komikon Inc. with Gerry Alanguilan, Dr. Carlo San Juan, and 8-Bit Media collaborating with Vinyl on Vinyl.

STGCC was spectacular in bringing the East and West culture mash up at the Marina Bay Sands from the Media Preview day to the day it closed its doors everyone went home smiling enjoying the biggest convention weekend.

STGCC 2012: Komikon Invades the Artist Alley!

09.01.2012 – The Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention is just warming up the first day and you’ve seen some of the high lights of the event. The representatives of Komikon (you can drop by and visit them at Booth A16 with Gerry Alanguilan) made the rounds at the far end of the Mariona Bay Sands Convention Centre to check out what the Artist has in store for STGCC 2012.

There are selected few interesting talents that can be seen at the Artist Alley from talented animation illustrators, toy designers, and of course independent comic book artists.

09.01.2012 – Play Imaginative has been around to bring toy and character designs and they have nrrm present since the very first Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention as one of the key players in the interest exclusive collectibles released figures.

The highlight for STGCC 2012 is the introduction of the 1/6 Scale Super Alloy Series featuring Batman based from the unique vision of Jim Lee. The 12 inch figure comprises of 85% die-cast metal alloy with more than 50 points of articulation.

09.01.2012 – Greeting the start of September is the opening day for the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention.

The registration area was open for two different queues the standard and VIP pass. Upon entering the convention hall the crowd is already heading to the booths with collectibles.

The first artists to be featured in the Walk of Fame were Gabby Tiongson, Wendy Chew, and The Beast Brothers.

STGCC 2012: Thundercats Lion-O Falcon's Hanger Exclusive!

08.31.2012 – The Falcon’s Hanger a Singapore-based toy distributor collaborates with Bandai Asia to release an exclusive for the Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention from the Thundercats Classics figure series. It’s a red repaint of the Classic Lion-O which is the disguise Mumm-Ra assumed based from the 1st season finale in the episode “Fond Memories.”

The exclusive 8 inch figure can only be purchased at The Falcon’s Hanger booth C12/14, D13/15 which will be its official debut at STGCC 2012.

08.31.2012 – Media Preview earlier has given as glimpse of what to expect during the weekend for the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention.

But there where inquiries about the set up at the convention floor and we have hope to share it with you.

But Reed Expo and Ni9mer only allowed booth exhibitors to enter the premises but our friends at Komikon will reveal exclusives photos soon.

08.31.2012 – Planning to drop by the Singapore Toys, Games and Comic Convention 2012 we’re giving you a preview what to see this weekend. Earlier today STGCC 2012 held an exclusive Media Preview featuring some of the guest artists in the industry.

Andy Diggle, Tristan Eaton, & Leinil Yu talked to the media with their future projects and their excitement to be part in this year’s STGCC. Leinil Yu and Tristan Eaton were doing live art though half-finished you’ll see it also on stage this weekend.

STGCC 2012: 8-Bit Media Unveils Limited Art Prints from Filipino Guest Artists!

08.29.2012 – 8-Bit Media reveals some exclusive prints that would be available at their booth C24 at the Singapore Toys, Games, and Comic Convention! The limited sketch and artworks from Philippine contingent of artists featuring Jason Paz, Mark Torres, Stephen Segovia, Carlo Pangulayan and Mico Suayan the guests for STGCC 2012!

The talented ensemble of Filipino artists working for international which is well known publications in the industry featuring IDW Publishing and Marvel Entertainment talents!

STGCC 2012: Toys R Evil at Booth F51 Reveals Con Layout!

08.28.2012 – Toys R Evil has been present since the very first Singapore Toys, Games, and Comic Convention and has been consistent in bringing the news in the world of Pop and Urban scene. This STGCC 2012 he will have another booth located at F51 in the Artist Area close to the Hot Toys Collection Point area where the exclusives will be on display.

This reveals also the entire layout of the event happening at the Marina Bay Sands on September 1 and 2. Toys R Evil returns in full force with vinyl collections on display as well as artists from the industry will be dropping by to sign some autographs.

Mico Suayan signing Punisher #14 at Comic Odyssey!

08.26.2012 – Earlier today Mico Suayan just wrapped up his comic book signing for Comic Odyssey at the Fully Booked flagship store in Bonifacio High Street. It was like the same atmosphere when Stephen Segovia and Dennis Crisostomo had an autograph signing last month.

Mico promotes his latest work on the new Punisher series with number #14 starting from the previous issue that garnered interest in the local community. Being familiar with super natural characters like what he did with Werewolf by Night miniseries some years ago.

Some of the most well-known names in the gaming industry such as Namco Bandai, Electronic Arts and Cherry Credits are bringing a series of celebrated games in the league of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, FIFA 12 and Dragon Nest SEA to the convention. Gamers will get the chance to flex their gaming muscles and fight for glory at the various tournaments.
