07.09.2012 – The Dark Knight Rises is less than two weeks away for its international screen date and anticipation riding high on the popularity for Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece which had a standing ovation when it was screened to selected media personnel who got to see it first last week.

Batman: The Dark Knight -- The Rise of Bane!

06.15.2012 – The Dark Knight which was written by Paul Jenkins and art by David Finch who we spoke last March during his Philippine visit shares us issues of #6 and 7 where they re-introduced Bane to the New 52.

The character is based from the fictional Caribbean Republic of Santa Prisca who first appeared in the Vengeance of Bane #1 back in 1993. Bane better known as the man who broke The Bat in the Knightfall saga has became one of the major villains Batman has faced over the years appearing in animation and the last Batman movie before Begins.

Sighted: The Dark Knight Rises Toyline from Mattel!

06.03.2012 – The Dark Knight Rises is a month away but the toys have started appearing in local retail stores here in the Philippines.

Most of them are now available at Toys R’ US as we also checked in other stores like Toy Kingdom but they have not turn up.

The price points for these figures are bit upscale for the 4 inch size that is packed with their “Quick Tek” gimmick. One notable product is the “Attack Armor Bat-Pod” with an added armor shell of the basic bike that was spawned from the Tumbler that was damaged in The Dark Knight movie.

NY Toy Fair 2012: The Bat Revealed from Dark Knight Rises!

02.13.2012 – The New York Toy Fair 2012 has been giving us enough updates and we bring you the one possible that might be seen in Philippine shores. The Dark Knight Rises has revealed the name of Batman’s latest vehicle a few weeks and Mattel is pushing the promotion of its merchandise.

Evidently a truck driving by in the streets of New York pretty much sums up what to expect in the upcoming Batman film. There are mixed receptions about some of them being displayed in the convention floor but one thing for sure there’s The Bat we want to see here…

The Dark Knight Rises: "The Legend Ends..." Teaser Poster

December is a big month for fans of Christopher Nolan and Batman. It heralds the release of the much anticipated prologue of "The Dark Knight Rises" with IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It also saw the rise of the viral marketing campaign for the movie by Warner Bros, plotting down clues and various interactive material for fans to decipher in order to learn information related to the movie (and in the case of Operation: Early Bird, the locations of early screenings of the prologue).

Now, as mentioned months before and to probably usher in the debut of the new trailer sometime this month, Warner Bros. has released the newest poster for The Dark Knight Rises, and it signals the coming of Bane (played by Tom Hardy), and the end of an era that started in 2005 and skyrocketed with an awesome sequel in 2008. Take a look at the one sheet!

Very nice, and it echoes the promise of Bane "breaking the bat" ala the classic Batman storyline "Knightfall", where The Dark Knight's spine was broken by the brute. It follows the style of the past Nolan Batman movie posters, and is quite epic-looking indeed. For more info, check out the source post at SuperHeroHype!

The Dark Knight Rises and legends end on July 20, 2012!

Tom Hardy as Bane voices out to Gotham in The Dark Knight Rises!

Comic Book Movie featured this VERY INTERESTING post of a sound bit straight from the mouth of Tom Hardy, aka Bane in The Dark Knight Rises! In this clip posted in YouTube, we hear Hardy's very first lines as Bane, who addresses Gotham with a proclamation! Of course, you can consider this an actual SPOILER, so take heed with the warning! You can hear it below via this audio clip video uploaded in You Tube.

The Dark Knight Rises: Bane's first lines in the movie

And if you want to know where that line came from and more, it's set during a scene being filmed in Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, where a mock football game being filmed for the movie is taking place, between the "Gotham Rogues" are taking on the "Rapid City Monuments". As you can guess, Bane invades the joint, and proclaims to Gothamites to "Take Control" of their city! Check out the clip below from a person who was in the scene and uploaded it to YouTube.

Pretty interesting updates here. Finally, we hear how Tom Hardy will sound as Bane, but there might be a possibility that it will go through  some changes in post-production. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out soon enough. For more info on the story, visit the source post at Comic Book Movie!

Batman and Bane fight scene pics and video from The Dark Knight Rises make their way online!

The folks at subaruwrxfan and Batman-News have gotten another scoop up from the set of Christopher Nolan's next Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises, and it involves Christian Bale and Tom Hardy tussling and fighting against one another as Batman and Bane respectively in a scene being filmed in Oakland! As you can see, Bale is still wearing the Batsuit Lucius Fox made for him in The Dark Knight, and he's taking on Nolan's version of Bane, which is a different take compared to the comic book version most of us know and have read about. A video of the scene being filmed was also uploaded by subarywrxfan in You Tube. You can check it up while it's still up, and of course, there be SPOILERS in it as well.

Tumblers and Bane being filmed on Pittsburgh for The Dark Knight Rises!

Batman-News has sprung the word for a couple of nifty news from the set of Christopher Nolan's next Batman movie, with one post showing photos of Tom Hardy on set and wearing full costume gear as Bane for "The Dark Knight Rises"! With filming currently taking place in Pittsburgh, this looks to be a major scene taking place with Hardy standing in the middle of the street, with his Bane costume made up of a military vest, trenchcoat, and of course a mask that covers his mouth.

Also being filmed on Pittsburgh is the returning Tumbler (aka the Batmobile), or rather THREE of them. For those still wondering why the vehicle is back, Lucius Fox did point out in Batman Begins that there is more than one, so it would make sense for Bruce Wayne to procure another one for his needs. A video has also made its way to You Tube which sees the vehicles being driven on the set.

The official website, www.thedarkknightrises.com, is live and up, but it only has a blank screen that eventually becomes a wav file with a chant playing in the background. Christopher Nolan reveals two roles in The Dark Knight Rises!

After quite a wait and a long period of secrecy, director Christopher Nolan finally breaks his silence and reveals two roles for his next Bat flick, The Dark Knight Rises. As reported in Slash Film, his Inception star, Tom Hardy, finally has a role for this movie. Take note, this may be a surprise to some when you see the picture below of who the English actor is going to play, but Nolan has already decided on it, and here it is:

Yes, Tom Hardy will be playing Bane, the villain who singlehandedly broke the Dark Knight's back in the "Knightfall" storyline during the 90's. The character was also used in "Batman and Robin", but that outing didn't turn out so well for the character. Some of you may find this role casting as strange as I did, but I respect the director enough to know he may have something up his sleeve with the choice. We'll just have to wait and see how it turns out once production for the movie begins and photos and trailers show the action.

In other news, a female lead has finally been chosen, and Anne Hathaway was given Nolan's blessing to play Selina Kyle, who many around the world know better as Catwoman. As one of primary characters in Batman and Bruce Wayne's world, Catwoman is the one of the few characters who has been a villain and ally to the Dark Knight, as well as a lover who has earned his respect and admiration. As the person to play Ms. Kyle, Hathaway is a beautiful and smart actress for the park, and I think Nolan has left the role in good hands with her casting. The Devil Wears Prada star ironically also worked with the late Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain, who we all know played the most iconic representation of The Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight, for which he won a posthumous Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. If you want to get an idea of how she acts, she'll be appeared recently in Love and Other Drugs alongside Jake Gyllenhaal (another Brokeback co-star). Knowing Nolan's way of directing and picking actors, I have faith on what's going to come with TDKR, and this will be an exciting wait for the next Batman movie.
