The Dark Knight Rises: Whatever Happened To The Joker?
For those who have seen or have yet to see The Dark Knight Rises, it's a given by the synopsis alone that the film takes place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight. The Joker, played and immortalized by the late Heath Ledger, was understandably missing because of the Australian actor's passing and director Christopher Nolan choosing not to incorporate the character to honor Ledger's memory. However, the novelization of TDKR briefly mentions the criminal mastermind, and a fan has taken the liberty of creating a storyboard sequence where we find out one interpretation of what exactly happened to the so called Clown Prince of Crime.

The Dark Knight Rises: Christopher Nolan says farewell to The Batman
Currently playing in theaters and ushering in the final chapter of the Dark Knight Trilogy to fans and viewers worldwide, The Dark Knight Rises also marks the last time Christopher Nolan will direct Bruce Wayne's journey in the Big Screen. That being said, the recently released book The Art and Making of The Dark Knight Trilogy contains a foreword from the British-American director himself as he bids goodbye to the Batman film franchise he helped restore to prominence.
Here is the foreword below, courtesy of Superherohype and its forums.

Spoiler-Free Review: The Dark Knight Rises.
It shows today, and true enough, Christopher Nolan delivers the epic finish to the Dark Knight trilogy. I have a spoiler-filled review via my other movie site, but here's the short and sweet non-spoiler version for the public to note, featuring non-spoiler excerpts from the other detailed review. It opens today in cinemas in the Philippines, both in IMAX and conventional theaters. Thanks again goes to Warner Bros. Philippines and SM Cinema for the premiere!

Where's Finch?! - A Batman Fan Film
Here it is... Justice PH/ Gotham PH and Gotham Madness star in their very first and simple Batman fan film feature!
"On March 2012, DC Comics talent and Batman: The Dark Knight writer/ artist David Finch was invited to Fully Booked.
However, something unexpected happened, prompting Batman and his allies from Gotham PH to respond to a situation. Finch was unable to make his trip, and suspicions arose that Gotham Madness may be behind the delays. With that, The Dark Knight set out on his own investigation and ends up paying a visit to his old archnemesis... The Joker."

The Dark Knight Rises: "The Legend Ends..." Teaser Poster
December is a big month for fans of Christopher Nolan and Batman. It heralds the release of the much anticipated prologue of "The Dark Knight Rises" with IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It also saw the rise of the viral marketing campaign for the movie by Warner Bros, plotting down clues and various interactive material for fans to decipher in order to learn information related to the movie (and in the case of Operation: Early Bird, the locations of early screenings of the prologue).
Now, as mentioned months before and to probably usher in the debut of the new trailer sometime this month, Warner Bros. has released the newest poster for The Dark Knight Rises, and it signals the coming of Bane (played by Tom Hardy), and the end of an era that started in 2005 and skyrocketed with an awesome sequel in 2008. Take a look at the one sheet!
Very nice, and it echoes the promise of Bane "breaking the bat" ala the classic Batman storyline "Knightfall", where The Dark Knight's spine was broken by the brute. It follows the style of the past Nolan Batman movie posters, and is quite epic-looking indeed. For more info, check out the source post at SuperHeroHype!

The Dark Knight Rises Viral Marketing Begins
Back in 2007, months before "The Dark Knight" was released in theaters on July 2008, Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan took teasing and fan interaction to the next level by introducing various "viral marketing campaigns". Every one of them, while fictional, purposely served as a cryptic clues and lead ons to the actual movie, ranging from mini online games to actual puzzles and scavenger hunts that sent fans on a solving frenzy, rewarding them in return with scribbles and downright amusing stuff (one reward in particular being the first official image of the late Heath Ledger as The Joker). Now, the legacy continues, as Nolan's next and final Batman film preps up to do the same!
As of today, "The Dark Knight Rises" has now officially started its viral marketing campaign, beginning with a CIA Bulletin that was posted on Wired and features the profile of one Dr. Leonid Pavel (played by Alon Abutbul), and then another on Empire featuring a document that has a transcript of a conversation between a Militia man and a mysterious CIA Staff member.
What these mean and how it relates to the overall plot of TDKR is anybody's guess. More clues are surely on the way... so let the speculation begin for now. In the meantime, look forward to the 6 minute prologue that's going to be attached with IMAX screenings of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol next week, as well as the new trailer coming before the year ends! For more information on the viral marketing campaign pics you see here, visi the source posts at Wired, Empire, and Superherohype!

Batman and Bane fight scene pics and video from The Dark Knight Rises make their way online!
The folks at subaruwrxfan and Batman-News have gotten another scoop up from the set of Christopher Nolan's next Batman flick, The Dark Knight Rises, and it involves Christian Bale and Tom Hardy tussling and fighting against one another as Batman and Bane respectively in a scene being filmed in Oakland! As you can see, Bale is still wearing the Batsuit Lucius Fox made for him in The Dark Knight, and he's taking on Nolan's version of Bane, which is a different take compared to the comic book version most of us know and have read about. A video of the scene being filmed was also uploaded by subarywrxfan in You Tube. You can check it up while it's still up, and of course, there be SPOILERS in it as well.
For more info and pics on the story, visit the source post at Batman-News and subaruwrxfan.

The Dark Knight Rises Update: Vehicles sighted! The Tumblr returns!
It appears that some scoopers hot on the trail of shooting locations for Christopher Nolan's next Bat-flick "The Dark Knight Rises" have struck gold in their findings, and via Superherohype, we get our first look at the vehicles set to appear in the next sequel. In addition to a SWAT vehicle for the Gotham City Police Department, Batman's own arsenal of vehicles we captured being loaded to the set, and besides a covered up Batpod being spotted, it appears that the Dark Knight's original ride, The Tumbler, has returned!

That's right folks, your eyes don't deceive you! The Batmobile will be making its presence known yet again in the third Batfilm, but wasn't it destroyed and converted in the Batpod in The Dark Knight back in 2008? The answer is both yes and no. If you remember the scene in Batman Begins where Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox tested out a non-black colored Tumbler, Mr. Fox did mention that "two" were made to serve as bridging vehicles for combat and military application purposes. With the first car destroyed, it only makes sense for Bruce to go and get the other one. After all, that was one sweet and massive ride to begin with, hehe. For more info, check out the source posts at Superherohype and Slash Film!

DC Comics unleashes more Batman reboot books!
Following the previous post's news, Looks like Detective Comics #1 and Batman #1 won't be the only batbooks coming out of the DC reboot phase, as there are two additional titles added to the roster readers can expect this September: Batman and Robin #1, and Batman: The Dark Knight #1. Via The Source, we get a glimpse and good look at these books and what they have to offer to readers of the Caped Crusader.
In Batman and Robin #1, written by Peter Tomasi and illustrated by Pat Gleason, Bruce Wayne/ Batman will team up with his son, Damien, as they protect the streets of Gotham as Batman and Robin!
Sadly, this means there's two brooding vigilantes now, and since Dick Grayson won't be Batman anymore, no reverse of the Dynamic Duo combination either. I'm gonna miss Dick Bats all the more...
The other new book, Batman: The Dark Knight #1, will be helmed by David Finch will write and illustrate Bruce Wayne's alter ego as he explores the innards of Arkham Asylum! Collaborating with Finch on pencils will be Jay Fabok, so expect more dynamic illustrations with the new book!Still feeling mighty detached because of continuity concerns, but I guess I'll look out for these soon. For more info, visit DC's official blog post at The Source.
Batman and Robin #1 and Batman: The Dark Knight #1 will be out with the rest of the DC Reboot wave this September.

Watch "The Dark Knight" On Facebook!
Warner Brothers just announced that "The Dark Knight" will be digitally available for rental on Facebook. They will be the first Hollywood studio to offer movies in a digital medium on a social network, and more movies will be announced in the coming months.
How to rent? Well, Red Dot Diva says, one has to be a Friend of "The Dark Knight" official Facebook page. Log on to that page and and click a "Rent" icon to apply Facebook Credits. The cost per rental is 30 Facebook Credits, or USD$3.
The clock starts ticking for 48 hours once one has purchased to watch the movie. Red Dot Diva also learnt that the movie is viewable in full-screen mode. And Facebook functionalities are not halted in any way.
It is unfortunate that this rental is not available to international viewers. The rest of the world seems lagging behind when it comes to media digital distribution.
Red Dot Diva finds this move by Warner Brothers interesting though. and wonders if it makes any changes to the way people "go watch a movie". With online dating sites being an equally hot commodity, would watching a movie on a date mean something entirely different now?
