Star Wars Reads III at the Ayala Malls!

10.11.2014 – Saturday was the busiest day for events that happened, but Star Wars Reads has been announced a bit over a month prior to the set date. For those who don’t know what the event is all about it’s mostly an advocacy to promote literacy for the kids. It’s about getting the kids and younger ones to reading again either a comic book or a novel it is all about reading. This is Star Wars Reads third year as a global advocacy promoting about reading, which is a first for the Philippines to celebrate as its debut.

Kapow! Celebrates Marvel at 75!

03.23.2014 – Kapow! Universe, the Marvel Concept Store in the Philippines celebrated its 75the anniversary by promoting the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which will be hitting the big screen on March 26, 2014. Local comic books artists led by Leinil Yu was at the store meeting with fans, singing comic books, and making sketches. The other local artists where just across the store supporting the celebration and launching the new Captain America vinyl by Funko Pop!

10.01.2013 – Celebrated the opening of Kapow! Universe which is the first ever Marvel store in the Philippines that definitely something for you to drop by and see for yourself what good finds you’ll get from “The House of Ideas!” But if you missed last Sunday’s festivities and the opening of the store then maybe it’s time for you to see inside the SHIELD facility that doesn’t needs a Level 7 clearance or being part of the organization that keeps an eye on some of Marvel’s mystery men and women. Though it’s definitely a place new to the Marvel Universe can appreciate.

09.30.2013 – Kapow! Universe is the latest concept store to open at the Glorietta 5 in Ayala. It’s the first ever Marvel store in the Philippines owned by the same people from Collecticons Inc. who brought you back Filbar’s last July. It’s the first ever license store that features brands from Funko Pop and Mindstyle having never before seen Marvel products from perfume to clothing apparel. It’s like stepping inside the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility that features artifacts and elements from “The House of Ideas” that was built for every fan who grew up reading their comic books!

Indieket 2013: Filbar's Unveiled Pop Art Project!

08.11.2013 – Indieket’s one-day event could not be contained with new comics being sold as well as surprising launches exclusive for this event. Upon entering the Bayanihan Center a few tables you’ll see the bright lights on your left side. It was actually Filbar’s booth where they have unveiled a mini-exhibit of Funko Pop Vinyl toys featuring Iron Man as the base figure customized by NINE local artists into their characters that defined their individual creations. It was fully unveiled during the opening of the second annual Indieket which was met with inspirations and enthusiasm.
