Toy Sightings | Fortnite by Jazwares

07.10.2019 – For those who never play videogames or only heard in passing Fortnite was a popular Online Videogame from Epic Games that spawned three different themes namely Save the World, Battle Royale, and Creative. It is so popular that it produced several merchandise behind it.

Of course, the toys also follow where the popular game has become with the usual character you use in the game itself. McFarlane Toys owned the rights to produce 6 to 8 inches tall action figures and then there are the smaller figures that has just recently arrived and sighted at one of the Toys R’ Us stores in Metro Manila.

TRU Exclusive | World Peacekeepers

06.18.2019 – In the modern era of toy collecting there’s so much diverse brands and properties out there. From construction toys to superhero theme range of action figures and some would say that’s not enough diversity for you to sink your teeth in. But you’ll be surprised that there are some who are lowkey to the hobby.

Most of these enjoy the casual hobby and are not about the big brands but appreciate the little things. You can say there are action figure collectors out there, but not the ones you expect and most these individuals are old school and then there’s the "World Peacekeepers," a toyline about military figures, vehicles, & sets.

TMNT 2012 Series | Mikey Turflytle

02.12.2019 – By now the latest series from Nickelodeon is the “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, a re-imagination of the TMNT animated series. Following the end of its 2012 series the studio behind the hit show introduce a different kind of TMNT series on 2 March 2017 that will be fresh and geared toward a new audience.

Although the 2012 series has been replaced by this new adventures of this TMNT that is unfamiliar to longtime fans that doesn’t mean the toys would eventually be gone from shelf space. Some of the later waves were repackaged and older ones went up on clearance like Mike Turflytle!

World Peacekeepers | Navy SEAL (Deluxe)

08.16.2017 – “World Peacekeepers” has landed to Australian beaches and has jump off planes to the rescue. There have been 18 different types of assortment that’s currently available exclusively in Target Australia.

You’ve probably have seen the basic figures, which is the ones packaged in blister cards. Then there’s the Deluxe Editions which comes with extra accessories and also includes small type of vehicles like the Navy Seal soldier with a canoe.

Toy Sightings | World Peacekeepers

07.29.2017 – When you talk about small scale action figures particularly in 4-inch or 1/18 scale lately its not being represented. You’ve got science fiction space opera related-toys since there’s a multi-media backed support for the reason they keep making new toys and characters.

But for military themed toyline there’s not much support unless the target market is for those who have grown up with this type of interest. M&C is a Hong Kong-based company which ready to answer that particular interest that’s been lacking read to bring you “World Peacekeepers!”

DM Minion Made: Backup Singer Minion!

05.12.2016 – The ‘Minions’ are taking a backseat right now having its recently home release of both Despicable ME films and spinoff from 2015 being a blockbuster hit. The merchandise however is still around stores but there some that are sold out.

Having the Happy Meal toys still one of the most sought after collectibles the other merchandise produced like the Funko Pop art toys are not far behind. But the figurines that have random characters produced by Thinkway Toys are unnoticeable though they are popular too since most of them are based from the movie scenes.

Toy Sightings: Taraka Tomy's Zootopia!

02.07.2016 – “Zootopia” is heading to cinemas this month, but only a few have seen the teaser posters and trailers. For those who only have seen a glimpse of this Disney film you might be surprised that there’s merchandise based on the said animated film.

You’ll be happy to know that from the same toy company that brought you Inside Out, Takara Tomy is also behind the upcoming Disney 3D animated feature in “Zootopia” which has been sighted in retail stores this past week.

There are plushies and role playing toys, but for those anticipating the movie surely would get down and collect the playsets, vehicles, and the action figures that comes with all the bells and whistles.

Its time for “Zootopia” to get the spotlight that has been shine upon this new film from Disney. The toys are well-made the little girls out there would definitely be interested in Judy Hops and that’s why Takara Tomy produced role playing toys based on her badge and recordable carrot pen.

11.22.2015 – “The Good Dinosaur” is Pixar’s second major computer animated feature after the success of “Inside Out” and this will the first time the company has released to films simultaneously.

It’s the premier week for “The Good Dinosaur” as it nears the Philippine release in a couple of days. What more exciting is the merchandise to coincide with its release!

06.05. 2015 – If you’ve been a fan of the 4 inch or 1:18 scale action figures chances are you’ve been into G.I. Joe. But since Hasbro hasn’t been consistent lately or its local distributor in the Philippines you tend to wonder if there are other alternatives.

There are selective alternatives to the Real American Hero it’s so happens that some of these are not as par with Hasbro’s quality. But the military toys are not going away so soon...

Target TV Spot Feat. Avengers Battle Ultron!

04.30.2015 – Avengers: Age of Ultron is heading to US cinemas this weekend and the build up to the return of Marvel’s greatest heroes in the big screen is backed up by collectibles and merchandise that has been available overseas and other regions.

Just like the original 2012 film there will be kid’s meal toys, collectible tumblers, and action figures from Hasbro and Target has produced a TV spot that would certainly looks and feel like from a Marvel film to let you know the Avengers is here!

TMNT 2012 Series: April O'Neil!

01.08.2015 – Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may be on a off season after a surprising season 2. For now taking a look back on some notable characters that were introduced in the very first season.

In the world of the TMNT there are a handful of human characters and most of them were mutated into creatures you’ve heard of like Dogpound or Leatherhead. But the only ones who have been human throughout the series is April O’Neil!

DM Minion Made: Lead Singer Minion!

01.01.2015 – In 2013 Despicable ME 2 was dominated by the yellow in blue uniformed foot soldiers known as the Minions. They’re the dark horse going back to the original feature film from DreamWorks Animation Studios.

The merchandise of course was literally sold out due to the driving force of the Despicable ME films, which earned a spinoff telling the origins of the gibberish speaking Minions to have their own animated feature film of the same name.

TMNT 2012 Series: Dojo Splinter!

12.14.2014 – Splinter is one of the key characters in all the iterations from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has served as mentor and father figure for the four turtles he raised in the sewers upon exposure to the mutagen that made him a rat.

For some origins he’s either a human named Hamato Yoshi or a rat that gained knowledge upon getting doused by the experimental ooze, but overall he’s one of the main characters in the series either comicbook or in animation. In the latest series he’s not only in his robes, but has geared to battle as “Dojo Splinter!”

Batman Day: The Dark Knight Collection!

07.27.2014 – Batman Day celebrating seventy five years of the Dark Knight was grand for DC Comics’ iconic figure. Bat fans lined up to get their free Batman comics a re-issue of Detective Comics #27, which was his very first appearance.

The event featured local artists and people from all walks of life dressed up to celebrate the cape crusader. There is also an exhibit of Batman collections mostly dominated by the ones owned by Anna Gajudo a big fan of the character. There you’ll see her collection from all things Batman and his friends that were on exhibit.

Regular Show: "Episodic Figures" Rigby!

05.01.2014 – The Regular Show is one of the hit animation from Cartoon Network, which mainly target audience is teens and adults. It’s surprising that the show gets aired in the Asian region but with minor cuts due to the material not for younger viewers.

There are action figures and merchandise tied-up with Regular Show, but they haven’t reached retail stores. It’s rarely you will come across any of the action figures by Jazwares and here’s a closer look at the other half of the team in Rigby…

Sighted: Bandai's Godzilla!

03.31.2014 – You’ve seen the teaser images and trailers but still no idea what Godzilla look like when starts stomping cities across the world. There were images that are not clear what this monster would appear in the big screen, but confirmed to be gigantic.

Godzilla IS big in literal sense and presumably bigger than its original predecessor, and this is not the one you saw from the 1998 film that ate A LOT of fish. If you’ve seen the teaser trailers from the cinema or the most recent one that also featured promotional teaser posters than you might be wonder what the merchandise looks like…

TMNT 2012 Series: Leatherhead!

02.15.2014 – Leatherhead has been one of the original TMNT characters dating back to the Mirage Studios black & white comic book. He’s often a turtle ally than a villain who appeared in the 1987 animated series.

In the various iterations of the character, Leatherhead is mostly a huge alligator and his origins as an exotic pet that got flushed down the sewers. This origin got stuck as a template being retold in the other various TMNT series.

Regular Show: "Episodic Figures" Mordecai!

02.12.2014 – The Regular show is an off-beat animated series created by JG Quintel for Cartoon Network that premiered in September 6, 2010. The story revolves around two friends Mordecai a Blue Jay & Rigby a Raccoon who work as groundskeepers of the park.

The popularity of the series produced merchandise based on the characters of the series, but just like the show it also focuses on variations of Mordecai and Rigby. Jazwares, the same manufacturers of the Adventure Time produced the action figures.

Toy Sightings: Adventure Time!

11.30.2013 – Just in time for the holiday season The Adventure Time toys by Jazwares was sighted on display in toy stores in Manila. The much awaited official merchandise that inspired the hit animation on Cartoon Network is finally here.

Previously you can only find these at specialty stores, that would be retailed twice the actual price. The merchandise consists of plush toys and the action figures.

The series of merchandise features Finn and Jake the Dog finally make on retail after a huge demand due to the popularity of the show.

Tron Legacy: One Man Light Jet!

11.21.2013 – Tron: Legacy is a science fiction film that was show in 2010, and it’s the direct sequel to the classic 1982 movie. Of course during its upcoming film there was a huge promotion marketed around the sequel and there will always merchandise tie-ups.

Spin Master had the chance to get the rights in manufacturing a toyline based on Tron: Legacy that has action figures and vehicles based on the film. They released the toys but some of them where not mass produced like the last wave.
