Movie Review: Inception

Yo Guys! Timzster here to share a review from my blog of one of the hottest and most anticipated movies of this year - INCEPTION!

"Your Mind Is The Scene Of The Crime..."

Movie: InceptionThat tagline echoed deep within the recesses of my own head whenever I thought of Inception – Christopher Nolan’s next film project after his epic Batman movie sequel that was “The Dark Knight”. In all fairness, I’ll be the first to admit that the ideas that the British director presents to the Hollywood table sound totally wild and daring, but he has a certain kind of air about him that makes you, the viewer, believe that he can make the impossible possible, and since my introduction to his directing style and work with the film “Memento”, I’ve been a big Chris Nolan believer and fan through and through. My faith in the man only increased when he was commissioned by Warner Bros. to do the Batman reboot, and we all know how that turned out.
Pretty much the rest was history after his stint there, and Chris has been on a role lately. With Inception officially launching in theaters by the end of this week, there’s no doubt in my mind people are going to be talking about this movie left and right. How do I know this? I’ve seen it of course!

07.08.2010 - Death from Neil Gaiman's universe will be crossing over to the DC Universe to visit Superman's archnemesis Lex Luthor in what can be a one time big time story written by Paul Cornell. Comic Book Resource gives us the inside treat in this rare opportunity to see a Vertigo owned character dropping by the DC continuity.

The fans will wait until Action comics #894 gets released in October. This is not the first time a Vertigo character has landed in the DC Universe. There was one instance in 1998 in a "JLA" storyline written by Grant Morrison Endless came to visit, but its been a while that it happened up until now...

Predators: They Hunt, They Adapt...

Yo guys, Timzster here with another entry from PopCulture Crusader:

Back when I was a lad, I had no clue what I was getting myself into when I saw the film Predator for the first time.

In my eyes, all I saw was another gung-ho flick starring the cool "Austrian Oak" action star known as Arnold Schwarzenegger, leading a military elite team on a rescue mission in Guatemala, with the typical action bravado I enjoyed back in the 80's.

However, that bold adventurous scenario quickly turned grim and menacing when something evidently "out-of-this-world" starts hunting and taking down Arnold's team quickly and efficiently, learning to adapt and systematically taking out the whole force, eventually leaving the guy the sole survivor to take on the "Predator" on his own.
In the end, the future Governator did the deed and killed the alien hunter, escaping with his life intact but leaving us, the audience, with the knowledge that humanity has a powerful adversary from the stars... the Predator.

BeatCast! Episode 6 - Shields, Costumes, Aliens, and The Fourth Of July!

Hi guys, Timzster here, and I'll be posting BeatCast episodes in Geekmatic from this point on... starting with the latest episode! Check it out!

It's the Fourth of July this week, and the guys of BeatCast! are back to tackle a number of topics in another episode of goodness and greatness! To celebrate the occasion that is independence day in the US, Mark and I speak about the familiar things we associate with the holiday of the 4th, namely movies like the mega alien 1994 blockbuster flick that was ID4; a classic Live action Superhero TV show comedy called "The Greatest American Hero"; and superheroes who symbolize freedom and liberty like the star spangled avenger himself, Captain America! We broaden the scope from there and discuss more comic related stuff, like the recent wardrobe change Princess Diana of the Amazons got in Wonder Woman #600! Also, we talk more movies with the impending release of "Predators" next week, as well as the new actor cast as Peter Parker in the 2012 Spider-Man movie reboot! There's a whole lot more popculture related stuff in this episode, as BeatCast! continues to roll forward!

Time to listen up!

Remember The Greatest American Hero?

07.03.2010 - If you don't remember The Greatest American Hero? Then you haven't been born during that time. Before there was Heroes there was a schoolteacher, who wears a costume given to him by aliens. This show defined the Superhero genre on television.

The Greatest American Hero was shown in the Philippines on GMA 7 on Sunday nights locally. It was the coolest thing next to Linda Carter's Wonder Woman and the late Bill Bixby's The Hulk in the 80s...
