There have been many toy-related events held in the Philippines. Big or small, their impact on the growth of the local toy industry keeps the general public's interest patronizing the hobby for the next generation who have grown with videogames from mobile phones to handheld gaming consoles. Truly, the interest in toys has shifted with emerging technologies, but that doesn’t stop those pre-internet kids, who are now adults continue to appreciate the nostalgia of physical toys that are now parents re-introducing the interest to their children. McFarlane Toys continues to put out the best action figures with the DC Multiverse since they acquired the rights in 2019. The current releases continue to improve its design as well innovate from the previous iteration of characters that were produced by its former license holder not only with sculpts but the presentation and quality. The new wave featuring Dark Knights: Death Metal Build-a-Figure Darkfather, which appeared recently in the DC Comics mini-series. This wave assortment arrive this recent Wednesday along with two other figures (Gold Hellbat & Batman Beyond) that are not part of the assortment that was recently sighted Toy Town in Glorietta Mall.

07.10.2019 – For those who never play videogames or only heard in passing Fortnite was a popular Online Videogame from Epic Games that spawned three different themes namely Save the World, Battle Royale, and Creative. It is so popular that it produced several merchandise behind it. Of course, the toys also follow where the popular game has become with the usual character you use in the game itself. McFarlane Toys owned the rights to produce 6 to 8 inches tall action figures and then there are the smaller figures that has just recently arrived and sighted at one of the Toys R’ Us stores in Metro Manila.

06.16.2019 – McDonald’s Happy Meal toys have been a hit or miss in the past months that whatever is released in Southeast Asia is limited by the properties that are only offered to this particular region. Basically, there’s a rarity in buying only the toys unless it is applicable to all countries within Southeast Asia. 02.23.2019 – Playmobil has been lukewarm with the latest released of toys in the Philippines lately. There were no new toys based on the “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” on display in time for the movie’s release and the toys based on the Dragons TV series were not updated to stock as the closest to the merchandise based on the said film. Currently, Bankee Inc the local distributor of Playmobil has A LOT of plans in store for 2019 and some surprises but they’re keeping it to their chest until things considered official.

02.06.2018 – The long travel to Tea Tree Plaza from Adelaide in South Australia is like already going to another nearby state. But the trip is smoother avoiding any traffic taking the Adelaide O-Bahn Busway as one of the only three Toys R’ Us in this part of Australia not accessible in the main downtown area. Toys R’ Us in Tea Tree Plaza has one of the biggest floor space second only to Noarlunga branch that stands in its own location than existing inside a shopping mall. PLAYMOBIL to Launch Ghostbusters Toy Line!

06.22.2016 – The “Ghostbusters” is set to return in cinemas next month featuring the four women tasked in trying to save New York. The iconic franchise has become part of a pop culture that had licensed tie-ups with merchandise. 04.15.2014 – Happy Meal in the Philippines quickly updated the latest toys to be released after Super Mario 3D World went sold out in less than seven days. It wasn’t released in other territories aside from Japan and some parts of South America in 2013. Immediately McDonald’s Philippines had a back up plan and they have now SpongeBob SquarePants Underwater Adventures. But this is not the first time SpongeBob was featured for the Happy Meal. This was previously released last year in Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Qatar and Pakistan.
